On 25 Jun 1601 Peregrine Bertie 13th Baron Willoughby (age 45) died at Berwick on Tweed [Map]. His son Robert Bertie 1st Earl Lindsey (age 18) succeeded 14th Baron Willoughby de Eresby. He was buried at St James' Church, Spilsby [Map].

On 15 Feb 1610 Catherine Bertie (age 15) died in childbirth. She was buried at St James' Church, Spilsby [Map].

Monument Elizabethan Period. Tall Sideboard Tomb with reclining hooded figure of Lady Katherine, daughter of Peregrine, with Chrisom Child in the crib at her feet. Above a standing figure of Peregrine Bertie 13th Baron Willoughby (age 45) in a niche, with strapwork embellishments, all supported on composite columns with a dentilated cornice.

Peregrine Bertie 13th Baron Willoughby: On 12 Oct 1555 he was born to Richard Bertie Baron Willoughby (age 38) and Catherine Willoughby Duchess Suffolk (age 36) at Wesel, Wesel. He was named for his parents peregrinations through Germany avoiding religious persecution. On 14 Oct 1555 Peregrine Bertie 13th Baron Willoughby was baptised at Church of St Willibrord, Wesel, Wesel. On 25 Dec 1577 Peregrine Bertie 13th Baron Willoughby (age 22) and Mary Vere Baroness Willoughby Eresby were married. She the daughter of John de Vere 16th Earl of Oxford and Margery Golding Countess of Oxford.

Catherine Bertie: Around 1595 she was born to Peregrine Bertie 13th Baron Willoughby (age 39) and Mary Vere Baroness Willoughby Eresby. Sources are confused about her birth year stating she was born in 1610 and that she married in 1609. Date adjusted to around 1595 on the assumption she was married around twenty years of age. Her son died at six days old on 09 Feb 1610. Her father died in 1601. Sources also refer to her as Baroness Rockingham whereas she died some eleven years before her husband was created Baron Rockingham. In 1609 Lewis Watson 1st Baron Rockingham (age 21) and Catherine Bertie (age 14) were married.

On or before 04 Jan 1627 Alice Holcroft (age 87) died. She was buried at the Church of St James, Gawsworth [Map] on 04 Jan 1627.

Clement Spelman of Narborough: He was born to John Spelman of and Margaret Blennerhasset. The mother assumed based on his father having married Margaret but not certain she is his only wife. In 1602 Clement Spelman of Narborough and Anne Carvill were married. Before 12 Sep 1606 Clement Spelman of Narborough and Ursula Willoughby (age 13) were married.

Ursula Willoughby: Around 1593 she was born to John Willoughby of Risley (age 38).

After 19 Mar 1612. Jacobean Hooded Monument monument with a figure leaning on their elbow to Mary Dawnay Baroness Eure (deceased) at St Laurence's Church, Ludlow [Map]. The monument is now in the south transept but was originally in a more prestigious position at the east end of the chancel, on the south side, opposite the Townshend tomb. It was moved when the chancel was restored by Scott in 1859-60. The figure of Lady Eure was originally painted: traces of black paint can still be seen in the folds of her elaborate dress. The inscription ... Here lyeth expecting a joyful resurrection the body of Dame Mary Eure late wife to the Right Ho Ralph Lord Eure (age 53) Baron of Malton, Lord President of the Principality and Marches of Wales and Leiutenant of the same and daughter of Sir John Dawney of Sessey in the County of York she departed this life the 19th day of March 1612 at the age of 55.

Mary Dawnay Baroness Eure: Around 1557 she was born to John Dawnay of Sessay, Yorkshire. In or before 1578 Ralph Eure 3rd Baron Eure (age 19) and Mary Dawnay Baroness Eure (age 20) were married. In 1594 William Eure 2nd Baron Eure (age 64) died. In 1594 His son Ralph Eure 3rd Baron Eure (age 35) succeeded 3rd Baron Eure. Mary Dawnay Baroness Eure (age 37) by marriage Baroness Eure. On 19 Mar 1612 Mary Dawnay Baroness Eure (age 55) died.

After 03 Nov 1612. Church of St Peter and St Paul, Easton Maudit [Map]. Monument to Christopher Yelverton (deceased) and Margaret Catesby was buried at Church of St Peter and St Paul, Easton Maudit [Map]. Early canopied Jacobean Hooded Monument with eight daughters shown on one side, four sons on the other. The posts support a canopy of two semicircular arches with coffered soffits, urn ornaments at the angles, and shields of arms.

Christopher Yelverton: In 1536 he was born to William Yelverton (age 33) and Amy Fermor (age 27). Before 29 Jun 1566 Christopher Yelverton (age 30) and Margaret Catesby (age 23) were married. On 24 Nov 1597 Christopher Yelverton (age 61) was appointed Speaker of the House of Commons. On 31 Oct 1612 Christopher Yelverton (age 76) died at his seventy room house in Easton Maudit.

Margaret Catesby: In 1543 she was born to Thomas Catesby of Whiston (age 17). In 1611 Margaret Catesby (age 68) died.

On 24 May 1616 Margaret Russell Countess Cumberland (age 55) died at Brougham Castle [Map]. She was buried in St Lawrence's Church, Appleby-in-Westmoreland [Map]. Finely carved alabaster. Jacobean Hooded Monument with Coronet. Possibly by Maximilian Colt (age 41).

Margaret Russell Countess Cumberland: On 07 Jul 1560 she was born to Francis Russell 2nd Earl Bedford (age 33) and Margaret St John Countess Bedford (age 27). In 1577 George Clifford 3rd Earl of Cumberland (age 18) and Margaret Russell Countess Cumberland (age 16) were married.They were third cousins. She being the daughter of . She being the daughter of Francis Russell 2nd Earl Bedford (age 50) who had been given George's wardship by Queen Elizabeth I of England and Ireland (age 43). She by marriage Countess of Cumberland. She the daughter of Francis Russell 2nd Earl Bedford (age 50) and Margaret St John Countess Bedford. He the son of Henry Clifford 2nd Earl of Cumberland and Anne Dacre Countess Cumberland (age 56). In Aug 1603 during a plague in London the royal court moved to Basing House, Old Basing. Francis Palmes of Lindley (age 49) entertained courtiers at his house nearby at Lancelevy, Sherfield on Loddon. The party included Lady Anne Clifford (age 13), her mother Margaret Clifford (age 43), Countess of Cumberland and Elizabeth Bourchier, Countess of Bath, who used Lancelevy as a base to visit Anne of Denmark (age 28) and Arbella Stuart (age 28).

On 18 Apr 1621 Bridget Chaworth (age 79) died. Monument in St Andrew's Church, Ufford [Map]. Marble with Corinthian Columns and reclining effigy. Corinthian Columns. Jacobean Hooded Monument.

The inscription reads "Dame Bridget, Lady Carr, widow, daughter of Sir John Chaworth of Wiverton, Nottingham, late wife to Sir William Carr of Old Sleaford in the county of Lincoln, who served the late Queen Elizabeth of most famous memory, being one of the gentlewomen of her Majesty's Privy Chamber for the space of five and twenty years, and afterwards served the most renowned Queen Anne, wife to our most gracious sovereign, King James, for the space of 14 years, being the residue of her life, and died the 18th day of April being of the age of 79 years, the which said Lady Carr, out of her love to her dear sister Katherine, the wife of George Quarles of this town of Ufford, esquire, hath caused her body to be here interred 1612". The date a mistake given she died in 1621.

Bridget Chaworth: In 1542 she was born to John Chaworth (age 44) and Mary Paston (age 22). Around 1590 William Carr (age 48) and Bridget Chaworth (age 48) were married.

On 14 Nov 1627 Elizabeth Waldegrave died. On 06 Dec 1629 Arthur Coke (age 42) died in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk [Map]. Jacobean Hooded Monument sculpted by Nicholas Stone (age 40) in St Andrew's Church, Bramfield [Map]. White and black marble; reclining effigy of Elizabeth with Arthur kneeling in prayer above within an arched Recess; Arms over the arch and surrounding it are seven Cartouche_s.

Elizabeth Waldegrave: She was born to George Waldegrave. On 08 Feb 1608 Arthur Coke (age 21) and she were married at Hitcham, Norfolk as recorded in the papers of the Winthrop Family Folio 36: "The viijth of Feb. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England 1312-1377. beinge Shrovetuesday the L Cokes seconde soonne maryed the daughter and heire of Sir George Waldegrave at Hiccham". The Hitcham Register gives 09 Feb as the date of the marriage. as recorded in the papers of the Winthrop Family Folio 36: "The viijth of Feb. beinge Shrovetuesday the L Cokes seconde soonne maryed the daughter and heire of Sir George Waldegrave at Hiccham". Arthur Coke: In 1587 he was born to Edward Coke (age 34) and Bridget Paston.

Aug 1629. Canopied mural monument in marble and alabaster to Frances Palmer nee Harvey died 1628 wife of Edward Palmer Counseller at Law. Antedates the present church. Jacobean Hooded Monument. It shows her recling head on hand propped up by elbow, attended by her kneeling husband. Two children, possibly originally a third. Four skulls probably indicating children who had predeceased her. Anne Lake Baroness Ros Helmsley: Before 14 Nov 1599 she was born to Thomas Lake (age 38) and Mary Rider (age 24). On 13 Feb 1615 William Cecil 16th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 24) and Anne Lake Baroness Ros Helmsley (age 15) were married. She by marriage Baroness Ros Helmsley. He the son of William Cecil 2nd Earl Exeter (age 49) and Elizabeth Manners 15th Baroness Ros Helmsley 1575-1591. Before 27 Jun 1618 William Cecil 16th Baron Ros Helmsley (age 28) divorced Anne Lake Baroness Ros Helmsley (age 18). After 27 Jun 1618 George Rodney (age 10) and Anne Lake Baroness Ros Helmsley (age 18) were married. In 1630 Anne Lake Baroness Ros Helmsley (age 30) died.

Elaborate canopied Jacobean Hooded Monument of alabaster, the effigies one above the other, with the figures of four sons and five daughters below. The canopy is supported by bedesmen in black gowns, and is surmounted by figures of Faith, Hope, and Charity. Above is an inscribed panel surrounded by books on end and various linked symbols with winged cherubs above. Large caryatids representing hooded bedesmen to left and right. Arch above with 3 standing figures and 2 hour-glasses on sculls.
