Biography of Mary Paget Countess Sandwich 1812-1859

On 05 Jul 1795 [her father] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 27) and Caroline Elizabeth Villiers Duchess Argyll (age 20) were married. She the daughter of George Bussy Villiers 4th Earl Jersey (age 60) and Frances Twysden (age 42). He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 51) and (age 53).

Before 1810 [her step-father] Henry Wellesley 1st Baron Cowley (age 36) and [her mother] Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 28) were married. She the daughter of Charles Sloane Cadogan 1st Earl Cadogan and Mary Churchill Countess Cadogan 1758- (age 51). He the son of Garrett Wellesley 1st Earl Mornington and Anne Hill Countess Mornington 1742-1831 (age 67).

After 19 Dec 1810 [her father] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 42) and [her mother] Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 29) were married. She the daughter of Charles Sloane Cadogan 1st Earl Cadogan and Mary Churchill Countess Cadogan 1758- (age 52). He the son of Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 66) and (age 68).

On 13 Mar 1812 [her grandfather] Henry Bayly-Paget 1st Earl Uxbridge (age 67) died. He was buried at Lichfield Cathedral [Map]. His son [her father] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 43) succeeded 2nd Earl Uxbridge, 4th Baronet Bayly of Plas Newydd in Anglesey.

On 16 Jul 1812 Mary Paget Countess Sandwich was born to Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 44) and Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 31).

On 04 Jul 1815 [her father] Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 47) was created 1st Marquess Anglesey. [her mother] Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 33) by marriage Marchioness Anglesey.

On 21 May 1818 George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich 1773-1818 (age 45) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map]. His son [her future husband] John William Montagu 7th Earl Sandwich (age 6) succeeded 7th Earl Sandwich.

On 12 Apr 1823 Bingham Baring 2nd Baron Ashburton (age 23) and [her future sister-in-law] Harriet Mary Montagu Baroness Ashburton (age 17) were married. She the daughter of George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich 1773-1818 and Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 42).

In 1838 John William Montagu 7th Earl Sandwich (age 26) and Mary Paget Countess Sandwich (age 25) were married. She by marriage Countess Sandwich. She the daughter of Henry William Paget 1st Marquess Anglesey (age 69) and Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 56). He the son of George Montagu 6th Earl Sandwich 1773-1818 and Louisa Lowry-Corry Countess of Sandwich (age 56).

On 13 Jul 1839 [her son] Edward Montagu 8th Earl Sandwich 1839-1916 was born to [her husband] John William Montagu 7th Earl Sandwich (age 27) and Mary Paget Countess Sandwich (age 26).

THIS day the Marriage of the QUEEN'S MOST EXCELLENT MAJESTY (age 20) with Field Marshal His ROYAL HIGHNESS FRANCIS ALBERT AUGUSTUS CHARLES EMANUEL, DUKE OF SAXE, PRINCE OF SAXE COBOURG AND GOTHA, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter (age 20), was solemnized at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace.

Field Marshal His Royal Highness the Prince Albert (age 20), attended by his Suite, proceeded from Buckingham-Palace [Map] this day, about half past eleven o'clock, to St. James's-Palace [Map], in the following order:

Conveying General Sir George Anson, G.C.B. (age 43); George Edward Anson, Esq (age 28); and Francis Seymour, Esq (age 26); the Bridegroom's Gentlemen of Honour.

On 12 Aug 1842 [her son] Sydney Montagu was born to [her husband] John William Montagu 7th Earl Sandwich (age 30) and Mary Paget Countess Sandwich (age 30).

On 08 Jul 1853 [her mother] Charlotte Cadogan Marchioness Anglesey (age 71) died.

On 04 May 1857 [her sister-in-law] Harriet Mary Montagu Baroness Ashburton (age 51) died.

On 20 Feb 1859 Mary Paget Countess Sandwich (age 46) died. Her remains were moved to All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map] on 16 Jun 1884.

On 03 Mar 1884 [her former husband] John William Montagu 7th Earl Sandwich (age 72) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Barnwell [Map] on 16 Jun 1884 at which time the Montagu vault was closed. His son [her son] Edward Montagu 8th Earl Sandwich 1839-1916 (age 44) succeeded 8th Earl Sandwich.
