1476 Trial and Execution of Ankarette Twynyho

On 07 Dec 1295 Gilbert "Red Earl" Clare 7th Earl Gloucester, 6th Earl Hertford 1243-1295 (52) died at Monmouth Castle, Monmouth, Monmouthshire, South-East Wales. He buried at Tewkesbury Abbey. His son Gilbert Clare 8th Earl Gloucester, 7th Earl Hertford -1314 succeeded 8th Earl Gloucester (1C 1121), 7th Earl Hertford (1C 1138), 8th Lord Clare, 4th Lord Glamorgan.

On 28 Feb 1336 William Zouche 1st Baron Zouche Mortimer 1265-1336 (71) died at Tewkesbury Abbey. He was buried at Tewkesbury Abbey. His son Alan Zouche 2nd Baron Zouche Mortimer 1317-1346 (18) succeeded 2nd Baron Zouche Mortimer. Eleanor Damory Baroness Zouche Mortimer 1319-1360 (17) by marriage Baroness Zouche Mortimer.

On 31 May 1359 Elizabeth Montagu Baroness Badlesmere, Baroness Despencer 1324-1359 (34) died. Monument in Tewkesbury Abbey.

After 1375. Tewkesbury Abbey. Chantry of Edward Despencer 1st Baron Despencer. Beautifully carved tomb in the Early English Perpendicular Style. Note the unique kneeling knight above the tomb facing the alter.

On 11 Nov 1375 Edward Despencer 1st Baron Despencer, 3rd Baron Burghesh 1335-1375 (40) died at Llanblethian. He was buried at Tewkesbury Abbey. His son Thomas Despencer 1st Earl Gloucester 1373-1400 (2) succeeded 2nd Baron Despencer (4C 1357).

On 17 Aug 1390 Guy Bryan 1318-1390 (71) died. Monument to in Tewkesbury Abbey. Alabaster with, unusually, portraits rather than a generic face. Early PlatePeriod (Bascinet).

On 08 May 1411 William Beauchamp 1st Baron Bergavenny 1343-1411 (68) died at Meaux. He was buried at Tewkesbury Abbey. His son Richard Beauchamp 1st Earl Worcester 1396-1422 (14) succeeded 2nd Baron Bergavenny (1C 1392).

After 14 Apr 1471 John Courtenay 15th Earl Devon 1435-1471 was buried at Tewkesbury Abbey.

After 04 May 1471 Edward of Westinster Prince Wales 1453-1471 was buried at Tewkesbury Abbey. Brass floor marker of the grave of Edward of Westinster Prince Wales 1453-1471.

On 06 Oct 1476 Richard York 1476-1477 was born to George York 1st Duke Clarence 1449-1478 (26) and Isabel Neville 1451-1476 (25) at Tewkesbury Abbey.

Trial and Execution of Ankarette Twynyho

On 22 Dec 1476 Isabel Neville 1451-1476 (25) died in childbirth. She was buried in Tewkesbury Abbey. George York 1st Duke Clarence 1449-1478 (27) believed she had been murdered by Ankarette Twynyho -1477. On 27 Apr 1534 Abbot John Wakeman -1549 was appointed Abbot Tewkesury Abbey.

After 1549. Tewkesbury Abbey. Cadaver Cenotaph to Abbot John Wakeman -1549. The Cadaver unusual for the detail of worms and mice.

After 1887. Tewkesbury Abbey. Monument to Dinah Maria Murlock. Sculpted by Henry Hugh Armstead Sculptor 1828-1905.

On 16 Jun 1912 Hemming Robeson died. Monument in Tewkesbury Abbey, sculpted by Percy Bryant Baker Sculptor 1881-1970 (30), was dedicated.
