On 02 Dec 1630 John Carey 2nd Earl Dover (age 22) and Abigail Cockayne Countess Dover (age 20) were married. She the daughter of William Cockayne and (age 65). He the son of Henry Carey 1st Earl Dover (age 50) and Judith Pelham Countess Dover.
In 1631 [her daughter] Mary Carey was born to [her husband] John Carey 2nd Earl Dover (age 23) and Abigail Cockayne Countess Dover (age 21).

In or before 1647 Thomas Wharton (age 31) and [her sister-in-law] Mary Carey (age 31) were married. She the daughter of Henry Carey 1st Earl Dover (age 66) and Judith Pelham Countess Dover. They were second cousins.
In 1655 [her son-in-law] William Heveningham (age 51) and [her daughter] Mary Carey (age 24) were married. The difference in their ages was 27 years. She the daughter of John Carey 2nd Earl Dover (age 47) and Abigail Cockayne Countess Dover 1610-1687 (age 45).
On 13 Apr 1666 [her step-father] Henry Carey 1st Earl Dover (age 86) died at Hunsdon, Hertfordshire [Map]. His son [her husband] John Carey 2nd Earl Dover (age 58) succeeded 2nd Earl Dover, 2nd Viscount Rochford. Abigail Cockayne Countess Dover (age 56) by marriage Countess Dover.
On 21 Jun 1672 [her sister-in-law] Mary Carey (age 56) died.
On 26 May 1677 [her husband] John Carey 2nd Earl Dover (age 69) died without male issue. Earl Dover and Viscount Rochford extinct. His second cousin once removed Colonel Robert Carey 6th Baron Hunsdon (age 25) succeeded 6th Baron Hunsdon.
Evelyn's Diary. 23 Jan 1686. I din'd at my Lady Arlington's (age 52), groome of the stole to the Queene Dowager (age 47), at Somerset House [Map], where din'd the Countesses of Devonshire (age 40), Dover (age 76), &c. in all 11 ladys of quality, no man but myselfe being there.
