On 16 May 1719 [his father] Philip Yorke 1st Earl of Hardwicke (age 28) and [his mother] Margaret Cocks Countess Hardwicke were married.

On 27 Aug 1728 John Yorke was born to Philip Yorke 1st Earl of Hardwicke (age 37) and Margaret Cocks Countess Hardwicke.

In 1746 John Yorke (age 17) was appointed Clerk of the Chancery worth £1200 a year by his father [his father] Philip Yorke 1st Earl of Hardwicke (age 55).

In 1753 John Yorke (age 24) was elected MP Higham Ferrers.

In 1754 [his father] Philip Yorke 1st Earl of Hardwicke (age 63) was created 1st Earl Hardwicke, 1st Viscount Royston. [his mother] Margaret Cocks Countess Hardwicke by marriage Countess Hardwicke.

In 1761 [his mother] Margaret Cocks Countess Hardwicke died.

In 1762 John Yorke (age 33) and Elizabeth Lygon (age 20) were married. He the son of Philip Yorke 1st Earl of Hardwicke (age 71) and Margaret Cocks Countess Hardwicke.

In 1763 [his daughter] Jemima Yorke was born to John Yorke (age 34).

On 06 Mar 1764 [his father] Philip Yorke 1st Earl of Hardwicke (age 73) died. His son [his brother] Philip Yorke 2nd Earl of Hardwicke (age 43) succeeded 2nd Earl Hardwicke, 2nd Viscount Royston. Jemima Campbell 2nd Marchioness Grey (age 40) by marriage Countess Hardwicke.

On 25 Jun 1766 [his wife] Elizabeth Lygon (age 24) died of consumption. She was buried at St Andrew's Church, Wimpole [Map]. White marble inscription scroll flanked by putti beneath a shaped cornice enriched with torches and an urn, and with apron framing a cartouche of arms

Elizabeth Lygon: Around 1742 she was born to Reginald Pyndar aka Lygon of Madresfield in Worcestershire and Susannah Hamner. In 1762 John Yorke and she were married. He the son of Philip Yorke 1st Earl of Hardwicke and Margaret Cocks Countess Hardwicke.

In 1768 John Yorke (age 39) was elected MP Reigate.

On 18 Nov 1784 [his son-in-law] Reginald Pole aka Pole-Carew (age 31) and [his daughter] Jemima Yorke (age 21) were married.

On 04 Sep 1801 John Yorke (age 73) died. He was buried at St Andrew's Church, Wimpole [Map]. Of white marble in the Greek manner, in bold relief; two parents, hands clasped, stand in attitudes of grief at a tomb, with a reclining child at their feet; below is an inscription; signed 'R. WESTMACOTT, A.R.A. LONDON' (age 26)
