On 12 Dec 1751 Henry St John 1st Viscount Bolingbroke (age 73) died. His nephew Frederick St John 3rd Viscount St John 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke (age 18) succeeded 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke.

On 08 Sep 1757 Frederick St John 3rd Viscount St John 2nd Viscount Bolingbroke (age 24) and Diana Spencer Viscountess St John and Bolingbroke (age 23) were married. She by marriage Viscountess St John, Viscountess Bolingbroke. She the daughter of Charles Spencer 3rd Duke Marlborough (age 50) and Elizabeth Trevor Duchess Marlborough (age 44).

On 05 Jan 1893 Henry St John 5th Viscount Bolingbroke 6th Viscount St John (age 72) and Mary Emily Elizabeth Howard Viscountess Bolingbroke and St John were married at the Registry Office in Bath, Somerset [Map]. She by marriage Viscountess St John, Viscountess Bolingbroke. She had been his servant, subsequently housekeeper. The marriage was not revealed until after his death becoming something of a national scandal.

In Nov 1899 Henry St John 5th Viscount Bolingbroke 6th Viscount St John (age 79) died. His son Vernon Henry St John 6th Viscount Bolingbroke 7th Viscount St John (age 3) succeeded 7th Viscount St John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke, 10th Baronet St John Lydiard Tregoze in Wiltshire although he was only recognised as such in 1926.
