In 1663 Judge Francis Bernard was born to Francis Bernard of Castle Mahon and Mary Freke.

In 1692 Judge Francis Bernard (age 29) was elected MP Clonakilty which seat he held until 1695.

In 1693 Judge Francis Bernard (age 30) and Alice Ludlow were married.

In 1695 Judge Francis Bernard (age 32) was elected MP Bandonbridge which seat he held until 1727.
