On 25 Jun 1218 Simon "Elder" Montfort 5th Earl of Leicester (age 43) was killed at the Siege of Toulose 1218. His son Amaury Montfort (age 23) succeeded 6th Seigneur Montfort. His son Simon de Montfort 6th Earl of Leicester 1st Earl Chester (age 10) succeeded 6th Earl of Leicester.
