On 24 Jan 1620 James Dillon 1st Earl Roscommon (age 70) was created 1st Baron Dillon in a ceremony performed by the Lord Deputy Oliver St John 1st Viscount Grandison (age 61) in the Presence Chamber of Dublin Castle.
