On 07 May 1657 [his father] John Mordaunt 1st Viscount Mordaunt (age 30) and [his mother] Elizabeth Carey Viscountess Mordaunt (age 25) were married. He the son of [his grandfather] John Mordaunt 1st Earl Peterborough and [his grandmother] Elizabeth Howard Countess Peterborough (age 54). They were second cousin once removed.
In 1658 Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth was born to John Mordaunt 1st Viscount Mordaunt (age 31) and Elizabeth Carey Viscountess Mordaunt (age 26).
On 10 Jul 1659 [his father] John Mordaunt 1st Viscount Mordaunt (age 33) was created 1st Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 1st Baron Mordaunt of Reigate. [his mother] Elizabeth Carey Viscountess Mordaunt (age 27) by marriage Viscountess Mordaunt of Avalon.
On 11 Apr 1674 Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 16) was educated at Christ Church College, Oxford University.
On 05 Jun 1675 [his father] John Mordaunt 1st Viscount Mordaunt (age 48) died. He was buried at All Saints Church, Fulham. His son Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 17) succeeded 2nd Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 2nd Baron Mordaunt of Reigate.

Evelyn's Diary. 05 May 1695. I came to Deptford, Kent [Map] from Wotton, Surrey [Map], in order to the first meeting of the Commissioners for endowing an hospital [Map] for seamen at Greenwich; it was at the Guildhall [Map], London. Present, the Archbishop of Canterbury (age 58), Lord Keeper, Lord Privy Seal, Lord Godolphin (age 49), Duke of Shrewsbury (age 34), Duke of Leeds (age 63), Earls of Dorset (age 52) and Monmouth (age 37), Commissioners of the Admiralty and Navy, Sir Robert Clayton, Sir Christopher Wren (age 71), and several more. The Commission was read by Mr. Lowndes, Secretary to the Lords of the Treasury, Surveyor-General.
On 19 Jun 1697 [his uncle] Henry Mordaunt 2nd Earl Peterborough (age 75) died. His nephew Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 39) succeeded 3rd Earl Peterborough. His daughter Mary Mordaunt Duchess Norfolk (age 38) succeeded 7th Baroness Mordaunt. [his wife] Carey Fraser Countess Peterborough and Monmouth (age 37) by marriage Countess Peterborough.
Between 14 Sep 1705 and 19 Oct 1705 a multinational Grand Alliance army led by Lord Peterborough (age 47) captured the city of Barcelona [Map] from its Spanish defenders, most of whom then joined the Grand Aliance army.

She the daughter of Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 49) and [his wife] Carey Fraser Countess Peterborough and Monmouth (age 47). He the son of George Gordon 1st Duke Gordon (age 64) and Elizabeth Howard Duchess Gordon.
In 1708 [his son] John Mordaunt (age 27) and [his daughter-in-law] Frances Powlett were married. She the daughter of Charles Paulet 2nd Duke Bolton (age 47) and Frances Ramsden. He the son of Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 50) and [his wife] Carey Fraser Countess Peterborough and Monmouth (age 48). They were fourth cousins.
On 13 May 1709 [his wife] Carey Fraser Countess Peterborough and Monmouth (age 49) died.
In 1713 Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 55) was appointed 524th Knight of the Garter by Queen Anne of England Scotland and Ireland (age 47).
On 25 Oct 1735 Charles Mordaunt 3rd Earl Peterborough 1st Earl Monmouth (age 77) died. His grandson [his grandson] Charles Mordaunt 4th Earl Peterborough 2nd Earl Monmouth (age 27) succeeded 4th Earl Peterborough, 2nd Earl Monmouth, 9th Baron Mordaunt, 3rd Viscount Mordaunt of Avalon, 3rd Baron Mordaunt of Reigate.
