Around Oct 1613 Peregrine Bertie (age 29) fought a duel with Francis Norreys 1st Earl Berkshire (age 34). the specific cause of the duel isn't known but Norreys was known to be a longstanding enemy of Bertie's brother Robert Bertie 1st Earl Lindsey (age 30).

On 28 Jan 1621 Francis Norreys 1st Earl Berkshire (age 41) was created 1st Earl Berkshire, 1st Viscount Thame. [his wife] Bridget Vere Baroness Norreys Rycote (age 36) by marriage Countess Berkshire.
