Around 1491 [his father] Richard Pole (age 29) and [his mother] Margaret York Countess of Salisbury (age 17) were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] George York 1st Duke of Clarence and [his grandmother] Isabel Neville Duchess Clarence. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In or before 1501 Geoffrey Pole was born to Richard Pole (age 38) and Margaret York Countess of Salisbury (age 27).

On 15 Jan 1504 [his father] Richard Pole (age 42) died.

In 1512 [his mother] Margaret York Countess of Salisbury (age 38) was created 1st Countess Salisbury. Arguably a restoration of her brother's title - the previous creation was held by her brother.

In 1513 [his mother] Margaret York Countess of Salisbury (age 39) was restored 7th Baroness Montagu, 10th Baroness Montagu.

Before 09 Jul 1528 Geoffrey Pole (age 27) and Constance Pakenham (age 30) were married. He the son of Richard Pole and Margaret York Countess of Salisbury (age 54). He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward III of England.

Around 1530 [his daughter] Catherine Pole was born to Geoffrey Pole (age 29) and [his wife] Constance Pakenham (age 32).

In 1531 [his son] Arthur Pole of Lordington in Sussex was born to Geoffrey Pole (age 30) and [his wife] Constance Pakenham (age 33).

In 1538 Robert Cheeseman (age 53) was on the Grand Jury at the trials of Geoffrey Pole (age 37).

Exeter Conspiracy

In Aug 1538 Geoffrey Pole (age 37) was arrested. He had been corresponding with [his brother] Cardinal Reginald Pole (age 38). The investigation of Henry Courtenay 1st Marquess Exeter (age 42) had turned up his name; he had appealed to Thomas Cromwell, who had him arrested and interrogated. Under interrogation, Geoffrey said that his eldest brother [his brother] Henry Pole 1st Baron Montagu (age 46), and Henry Courtenay 1st Marquess Exeter had been party to his correspondence with Cardinal Reginald Pole.

In Jan 1539 Geoffrey Pole (age 38) was, somewhat surprisingly given the executions of the rest of his family, pardoned.

Hall's Chronicle 1538. 03 Nov 1539. The third day of November were Henry Marquess of Exeter and Earl of Devonshire (age 43) and Sir Henry Pole knight and Lord Montague and Sir Edward Neville brother to the Lord Bergavenny sent to the Tower which three were accused by Sir Geoffrey Pole (age 38) brother to the [his brother] Lord Montague (age 47), of high treason, and the two lords were arraigned the last day of December, at Westminster before the Lord Audley of Walden, Lord Chancellor, and then the High Steward of England, and there found guilty, likewise on the third day after was arraigned Sir Edward Neville, Sir Geoffrey Pole and two priests called Croftes and Collins, and one Holande a mariner and all attainted, and the ninth day of Januarie, were the said two lords and Sir Edward Neville beheaded at the Tower Hill, and the two priests and Holande were drawnn to Tyburn, and there hanged and quartered, and Sir Geoffrey Pole was pardoned.

In 1541 [his son] Edmund Pole of Lordington in Sussex was born to Geoffrey Pole (age 40) and [his wife] Constance Pakenham (age 43).

1541 Executions

On 27 May 1541, after some two and a half years of imprisonment, [his mother] Margaret Pole Countess Salsbury (age 67) was executed at Tower Green, Tower of London [Map] for her role in the Exeter Conspiracy. Earl Salisbury, Baron Montagu and Baron Montagu forfeit.

In 1546 [his son] Geoffrey Pole of Lordington in Sussex was born to Geoffrey Pole (age 45) and [his wife] Constance Pakenham (age 48).

On 06 Oct 1553 [his son-in-law] Thomas Hildersham and [his daughter] Ann Pole (age 13) were married. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

Around 1558 [his son-in-law] Anthony Fortescue (age 23) and [his daughter] Catherine Pole (age 28) were married. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In Nov 1558 Geoffrey Pole (age 57) died. He was buried at Stourton Church Stourton, Leicestershire.

In 1570 [his former wife] Constance Pakenham (age 72) died.
