His son Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne (age 46) succeeded 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne, 2nd Earl Newcastle upon Tyne, 10th Baron Ogle.[his wife] Frances Pierrepont Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne (age 46) by marriage Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne.

In 1677 Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne (age 46) was appointed 480th Knight of the Garter by King Charles II of England Scotland and Ireland (age 46).

On 31 Dec 1677 George Savile 1st Marquess Halifax (age 44) was created 1st Viscount Halifax, 1st Baron Savile of Elland. [his sister-in-law] Gertrude Pierrepont Marchioness Halifax by marriage Viscountess Halifax.

On 01 Mar 1690 [his son-in-law] John Holles 1st Duke Newcastle upon Tyne (age 28) and [his daughter] Margaret Cavendish Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne (age 28) were married. She by marriage Countess Clare. She the daughter of Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne (age 59) and [his wife] Frances Pierrepont Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne (age 59). On 08 Sep 1692 [his son-in-law] Ralph Montagu 1st Duke Montagu (age 53) and [his daughter] Elizabeth "Mad Duchess" Cavendish Duchess Albermarle Duchess of Montagu (age 38) were married at Newcastle House. She the daughter of Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne who had died the year before and the widow of [his former son-in-law] Christopher Monck 2nd Duke Albemarle. She the daughter of Henry Cavendish 2nd Duke Newcastle upon Tyne and [his former wife] Frances Pierrepont Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne (age 62).

Evelyn's Diary. 01 Feb 1695. [his son-in-law] Lord Spencer (age 19) married the Duke of Newcastle's [his daughter] daughter (age 21), and our neighbor, Mr. Hussey, married a daughter of my cousin, George Evelyn, of Nutfield (age 53).

On 23 Sep 1695 [his former wife] Frances Pierrepont Duchess Newcastle upon Tyne (age 65) died.
