Biography of Henry Scudamore-Stanhope 11th Earl of Chesterfield 1855-1935

In 1874 [his grandfather] Edwyn Francis Scudamore-Stanhope 2nd Baronet (age 80) died. His son [his father] Henry Edwyn Chandos Scudamore Stanhope 9th Earl of Chesterfield 1821-1887 (age 52) succeeded 3rd Baronet Stanhope of Stanwell.

On 19 Oct 1883 George Philip Stanhope 8th Earl Chesterfield 1822-1883 (age 60) died without issue. His fourth cousin [his father] Henry Edwyn Chandos Scudamore Stanhope 9th Earl of Chesterfield 1821-1887 (age 62) succeeded 9th Earl Chesterfield, 9th Baron Stanhope of Shelford in Nottinghamshire.

On 21 Jan 1887 [his father] Henry Edwyn Chandos Scudamore Stanhope 9th Earl of Chesterfield 1821-1887 (age 65) died at Victoria Hotel. His son [his brother] Edwyn Scudamore Stanhope 10th Earl of Chesterfield (age 32) succeeded 10th Earl Chesterfield, 10th Baron Stanhope of Shelford in Nottinghamshire, 4th Baronet Stanhope of Stanwell.

On 26 Apr 1923 [his mother] Dorothea Hay Countess Chesterfield (age 95) died at 26 Eaton Gardens. She was buried at St Cuthbert's Church, Holme Lacy [Map].

On 24 Jan 1933 [his brother] Edwyn Scudamore Stanhope 10th Earl of Chesterfield (age 78) died without issue. He was buried at St Cuthbert's Church, Holme Lacy [Map]. His brother Henry Scudamore-Stanhope 11th Earl of Chesterfield (age 77) succeeded 11th Earl Chesterfield, 11th Baron Stanhope of Shelford in Nottinghamshire, 5th Baronet Stanhope of Stanwell.

On 02 Nov 1935 Henry Scudamore-Stanhope 11th Earl of Chesterfield (age 80) died. His nephew Edward Henry Scudamore-Stanhope 12th Earl Chesterfield 1889-1952 succeeded 12th Earl Chesterfield, 12th Baron Stanhope of Shelford in Nottinghamshire, 6th Baronet Stanhope of Stanwell.
