Paternal Family Tree: Cavendish

In 1941 [his father] Andrew Cavendish 11th Duke Devonshire (age 20) and [his mother] Deborah Vivien Mitford Duchess Devonshire (age 20) were married. He the son of [his grandfather] Edward William Spencer Cavendish 10th Duke Devonshire (age 45) and [his grandmother] Mary Alice Gascoyne-Cecil Duchess Devonshire (age 45).

On 27 Apr 1944 Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire was born to Andrew Cavendish 11th Duke Devonshire (age 24) and Deborah Vivien Mitford Duchess Devonshire (age 24) at Chatsworth House [Map]. He was educated at Eton College, Exeter College, Oxford, where he read history, and at the Royal Agricultural College (now the Royal Agricultural University), Cirencester.

On 28 Jun 1967 Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire (age 23) and Amanda Carmen Heywood-Lonsdale Duchess of Devonshire (age 23) were married. He the son of Andrew Cavendish 11th Duke Devonshire (age 47) and Deborah Vivien Mitford Duchess Devonshire (age 47).

In 1980 Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire (age 35) was elected to the Jockey Club, becoming its Senior Steward in 1989, in which office he served for five years.

In 1997 Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire (age 52) was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to racing.

On 03 May 2004 [his father] Andrew Cavendish 11th Duke Devonshire (age 84) died. His son Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire (age 60) succeeded 12th Duke Devonshire, 15th Earl Devonshire, 15th Baron Cavendish Hardwick, 7th Earl Burlington. [his wife] Amanda Carmen Heywood-Lonsdale Duchess of Devonshire (age 60) by marriage Duchess Devonshire.

In 2007 Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire (age 62) was appointed a trustee of the Wallace Collection.

In 2009 Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire (age 64) was appointed Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order for his services as Her Majesty's Representative at Ascot.

In Dec 2012 Peregrine Cavendish 12th Duke of Devonshire (age 68) sold Auxiliary cartoon for the Head of a Young Apostle by Raphael for £29.7m at a Sotheby's auction.
