Before 1385 [his father] Thomas Boteler 4th Baron Sudeley (age 26) and [his mother] Alice Beauchamp Baroness Sudeley (age 18) were married. She by marriage Baroness Sudeley.
In 1389 Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley was born to Thomas Boteler 4th Baron Sudeley (age 30) and Alice Beauchamp Baroness Sudeley (age 23) at Wem, Shropshire.
In 1417 [his brother] John Boteler 5th Baron Sudeley (age 32) died. His brother Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 28) succeeded 6th Baron Sudeley.
Around 1418 Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 29) and Elizabeth Norbury Baroness Sudeley (age 25) were married. She by marriage Baroness Sudeley.
In or before 1427 William Lovell 7th Baron Lovel 4th Baron Holand (age 29) and [his future wife] Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 22) were married. She by marriage Baroness Lovel of Titchmarsh.
Around 1440 Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 51) was appointed 157th Knight of the Garter by King Henry VI of England and II of France (age 18).
In 1441 Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 52) was created 1st Baron Sudeley. [his wife] Elizabeth Norbury Baroness Sudeley (age 48) by marriage Baroness Sudeley.
On 20 Feb 1447 Humphrey Lancaster 1st Duke Gloucester (age 56) was arrested on a charge of treason by John Beaumont 1st Viscount Beaumont (age 37), Humphrey Stafford 1st Duke of Buckingham (age 44), Edmund Beaufort 1st or 2nd Duke of Somerset (age 41), Richard Neville Earl Salisbury (age 47) and Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 58).
On 23 Feb 1447 Humphrey Lancaster 1st Duke Gloucester died at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk [Map]. He was possibly poisoned although more likely he died from a stroke. He was buried at St Alban's Cathedral [Map]. Duke Gloucester, Earl Pembroke extinct. His death left England with no heir to the throne in a direct line. Richard Plantagenet 3rd Duke of York (age 35) became heir presumptive until the birth of Edward of Westminster Prince of Wales six years later.
In 1449 [his son] Thomas Boteler and [his daughter-in-law] Eleanor Talbot (age 12) were married. She the daughter of John "Old Talbot" Talbot 1st Earl of Shrewsbury (age 66) and Margaret Beauchamp Countess Shrewsbury and Waterford (age 45). They were half third cousin once removed. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward I of England.
Patent Rolls Henry VI 1452-1461. 08 Aug 1457. Westminster. Commission to Jasper, earl of Pembroke (age 25), James, earl of Wiltshire (age 36), Ralph de Sudeley (age 68), knight, John Beauchamp of Powyk (age 48), knight, and the sheriff of Gloucester, reciting that whereas the king at the suit of Alice Veell, widow, caused writs to be directed to Thomas de la Hay, Thomas Holte, William Tyffyn, Nicholas Kyng, Maurice Kyng and Roger Clyff to appear before the king and council on a certain day to answer touching riots and offences done to her by them, and because Thomas de la Hay received his writ and the others withdrew in order that the writs should not be delivered to them, and they appeared not, the king by other writs caused proclamation to be made in London and the said county that they should appear before the council or chancellor within a month after the last day of proclamation, pursuant to the ordinance made in the Parliament held at Redyng in 31 Henry VI, which writs were duly returned by the sheriffs of London and Gloucestershire, yet they appeared not ; and appointing the said commissioners to arrest and bring them before the king in Chancery to answer touching the premises. In 1463 Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 74) and Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 58) were married. She by marriage Baroness Sudeley.
On 28 Feb 1463 [his step-son] John Lovell 8th Baron Lovel 5th Baron Holand (age 30) died. On 28 Feb 1463 His son Francis Lovell 1st Viscount Lovell (age 7) succeeded 9th Baron Lovel of Titchmarsh, 6th Baron Holand at around eight years of age. He became a ward of King Edward IV of England (age 20) who gave his wardship to Richard "Kingmaker" Neville Earl Warwick, 6th Earl Salisbury (age 34) spending his childhood at Middleham Castle [Map] with the young (future) King Richard III of England (age 10).
After 1466 Thomas Burdett of Arrow in Warwickshire (age 41) was in the service of John Beauchamp 1st Baron Beauchamp Powick (age 57), Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 77) and George York 1st Duke of Clarence (age 16).
On 02 May 1473 Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley (age 84) died. Baron Sudeley extinct. Baron Sudeley abeyant.
On 10 Feb 1474 [his former wife] Alice Deincourt 6th Baroness Deincourt, Baroness Lovel and Sudeley (age 69) died at Titchmarsh, Northamptonshire. Her grandson Francis Lovell 1st Viscount Lovell (age 18) succeeded 7th Baron Deincourt and the feudal barony of Bedale.
[his son] Thomas Boteler was born to Ralph Boteler 6th and 1st Baron Sudeley and Elizabeth Norbury Baroness Sudeley.
