On 07 Oct 1790 Reverend Edward Royds was baptised at St Mary's Church, Rochdale.
In 1819 Reverend Edward Royds (age 28) was appointed Rector of St Oswald's Church, Brereton [Map] which office he held until his death in 1836. The first of four Rectors of St Oswald's Church, Brereton [Map] from the Royds family. This Edward, his brother [his brother] Reverend Charles Smith Royds (age 19), Edward's son [his son] Reverend Edward Royds, and his son [his grandson] Reverend Alfred Royds.
On or after 28 Dec 1819, the date of the licence, Reverend Edward Royds (age 29) and Mary Molyneux (age 26) were married.
In 1820 Reverend Edward Royds (age 29) was awarded BA by Christ's College, Cambridge University [Map].
