Around 25 May 1507 Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle was born to Edward Stanley 1st Baron Monteagle (age 45) and Elizabeth Vaughan Baroness Grey Wilton (age 44).

On 17 Apr 1524 [his father] Edward Stanley 1st Baron Monteagle (age 62) died at Hornby Castle [Map]. His son Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle (age 16) succeeded 2nd Baron Monteagle.

Before 1527 Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle (age 19) and Mary Brandon Baroness Monteagle (age 16) were married. She by marriage Baroness Monteagle. She the daughter of Charles Brandon 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 42) and Anne Browne. They were third cousin once removed. He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward III of England.

In 1528 [his son] William Stanley 3rd Baron Monteagle was born to Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle (age 20) and [his wife] Mary Brandon Baroness Monteagle (age 18).

Around 1532 [his daughter] Anne Stanley was born to Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle (age 24).

In 1533 Henry Grey 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 16) and [his sister-in-law] Frances Brandon Duchess of Suffolk (age 15) were married. She by marriage Marchioness Dorset. She the daughter of [his father-in-law] Charles Brandon 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 49) and Mary Tudor Queen Consort France (age 36). He the son of Thomas Grey 2nd Marquess Dorset and Margaret Wotton Marchioness Dorset (age 46). They were half second cousins. He a great x 5 grandson of King Edward III of England. She a granddaughter of King Henry VII of England and Ireland.

Coronation of Anne Boleyn

                    On 01 Jun 1533 the six months pregnant Queen Anne Boleyn of England (age 32) was crowned Queen Consort England by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer (age 43) at Westminster Abbey [Map]. See Coronation of Anne Boleyn.
                
                    John de Vere 15th Earl of Oxford (age 62) bore the Crown. Henry Grey 1st Duke of Suffolk (age 16) carried the Salt. Margaret Wotton Marchioness Dorset (age 46) rode in the procession. William Coffin (age 38) was appointed Master of the Horse. Robert Radclyffe 1st Earl of Sussex (age 50) served as Lord Sewer. Henry Parker (age 20) and William Coffin were knighted. Thomas Berkeley 6th Baron Berkeley (age 28), Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle (age 26) and Henry Capell (age 27) were created Knight of the Bath. Margaret Wotton Marchioness Dorset rode in the procession. Arthur Hopton (age 44) attended.
                
                    Thomas More (age 55) refused to attend. Shortly thereafter, More was charged with accepting bribes, but the charges had to be dismissed for lack of any evidence.
                
                    Anne Braye Baroness Cobham (age 32) was the attendant horsewoman.
                
                    Charles Wriothesley (age 25) attended.

On 01 Mar 1534 [his brother-in-law] Henry Brandon (age 11) died at Southwark, Surrey [Map]. Earl Lincoln extinct.

Trial of Anne and George Boleyn

                    On 15 May 1536 Queen Anne Boleyn (age 35) tried at the King's Hall in the Tower of London [Map].
                
                    Thomas Howard 3rd Duke of Norfolk (age 63) was appointed Lord High Steward and presided. Henry Howard (age 20) attended. Henry Pole 1st Baron Montagu (age 44) was one of the judges. Elizabeth Browne Countess of Worcester (age 34) was the principal witness.

After 1542 Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle (age 34) and Helen Preston (age 31) were married. He a great x 4 grandson of King Edward III of England.

On 15 Aug 1560 Thomas Stanley 2nd Baron Monteagle (age 53) died at Hornby. His son [his son] William Stanley 3rd Baron Monteagle (age 32) succeeded 3rd Baron Monteagle. [his future daughter-in-law] Anne Spencer Countess Dorset by marriage Baroness Monteagle.

Henry Machyn's Diary. 25 Sep 1560. The xxv day of September was bered my lord Montegul (deceased), with a herse and a mageste [majesty] and valans of sarsenett, and iiij grett skochyons of armes, and a vj dosen of skochyons and vj of bokeram, and a standard and a grett baner of armes, and iiij baner-rolles of dyvers armes, and a cott armur, targett and sword, elmett, mantylles, and [crest;] and master Norrey (age 50) and Ruge-dragon the haroldes, and iiij dosen of ...

Note. P. 243. Funeral of lord Monteagle. Thomas Stanley succeeded his father 1523; made K.B. at the coronation of queen Anne Boleyne; married first lady Mary Brandon, daughter of the duke of Suffolk, and secondly Helen daughter of Thomas Preston esquire of Levens in Westmerland, and widow of sir James Leybourne. He died at his castle of Hornby, co. Lancaster, Aug. 18, 1560, and was buried on the 16th Sept. at the parish church of Melling. His funeral is in the College of Arms, I. 13, f. 27; see also MS. Harl. 897, f. 83.

On 14 Nov 1571 [his former wife] Helen Preston (age 60) died.

James Leybourne and Helen Preston were married. The difference in their ages was 21 years.
