Before 1137 William Warenne 3rd Earl of Surrey (age 17) and [his mother] Adela Montgomery Countess of Salisbury and Surrey were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] William "Talvas" Montgomery III Count Ponthieu (age 43) and [his grandmother] Helie Burgundy Countess Ponthieu (age 56). He the son of William Warenne 2nd Earl of Surrey and Elizabeth Capet Countess Leicester, Meulan and Surrey. They were third cousin once removed.

In 1149 [his father] Patrick of Salisbury 1st Earl Salisbury (age 27) and [his mother] Adela Montgomery Countess of Salisbury and Surrey were married. She by marriage Countess Salisbury. She the daughter of [his grandfather] William "Talvas" Montgomery III Count Ponthieu (age 56) and [his grandmother] Helie Burgundy Countess Ponthieu.

Around 1150 William of Salisbury 2nd Earl Salisbury was born to Patrick of Salisbury 1st Earl Salisbury (age 28) and Adela Montgomery Countess of Salisbury and Surrey.

Eleanor Ambushed by Guy de Lusignan

                    On 27 Mar 1168 Eleanor of Aquitaine Queen Consort Franks and England (age 46) and her party were ambushed by brothers Guy I King Jerusalem (age 18) and Geoffrey Lusignan (age 18).
                
                    [his father] Patrick of Salisbury 1st Earl Salisbury (age 46) was killed. His son William of Salisbury 2nd Earl Salisbury (age 18) succeeded 2nd Earl Salisbury.
                
                    William Marshal 1st Earl Pembroke (age 22) held off the enemy, was wounded and captured whilst Eleanor escaped. Eleanor subsequently paid his ransom.

Before 1187 William of Salisbury 2nd Earl Salisbury (age 36) and Eleanor Vitre Countess of Salisbury (age 28) were married. She by marriage Countess Salisbury. He the son of Patrick of Salisbury 1st Earl Salisbury and Adela Montgomery Countess of Salisbury and Surrey.

In 1187 [his daughter] Ela of Salisbury 3rd Countess of Salisbury was born to William of Salisbury 2nd Earl Salisbury (age 37) and [his wife] Eleanor Vitre Countess of Salisbury (age 29) in Amesbury, Wiltshire [Map].

Gesta Regis Henrici 1189. 03 Sep 1189. After them came two earls, whose names are these: William Marshal (age 43), Earl of Striguil, and William (age 39), Earl of Salisbury. One of them, namely William Marshal, carried the royal scepter, on the top of which was a golden cross. The other, namely William, Earl of Salisbury, carried the royal rod, which had a dove at its summit.

Post illos veniebant duo comites, quorum hæc sunt nomina; Willelmus Marescallus comes de Striguil, et Willelmus comes de Salesbiria: unus illorum, scilicet Willelmus Marescallus, portans sceptrum regale, in cujus summitate signum crucis aureum erat: et alter, scilicet Willelmus comes de Salesbiria, portans virgam regalem, habentem columbam in summitate.

In 1196 William of Salisbury 2nd Earl Salisbury (age 46) died. His daughter [his daughter] Ela of Salisbury 3rd Countess of Salisbury (age 9) succeeded 3rd Countess Salisbury.

In 1196 [his son-in-law] William "Longsword" Longespee Earl Salisbury (age 20) and [his daughter] Ela of Salisbury 3rd Countess of Salisbury (age 9) were married. He by marriage Earl Salisbury. She the daughter of William of Salisbury 2nd Earl Salisbury (age 46) and [his wife] Eleanor Vitre Countess of Salisbury (age 38). He the illegitmate son of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England and Ida Tosny Countess Norfolk (age 40).
