On 06 Apr 1797 Henry Mainwaring 4th Baronet (age 70) died unmarried. Baronet Mainwaring of Over Peover extinct. Thomas Wittenhall (age 61) succeeded to the Over Peover, Cheshire estates and adopted the name and arms of Mainwaring, in compliance with the will of his half-brother Henry Mainwaring 4th Baronet.
