In the month of Jan Katherine Duchess of Norfolk (age 65), a young woman of around 16 years, was married to John Woodville (age 20), brother of the queen, aged 20 years; diabolical marriage.

In Jan 1465 John Woodville (age 20) and Katherine Neville Duchess Norfolk (age 65) were married. Described as a 'Diabolical Marriage' by opponents of the Woodvilles. He being nineteen, she sixty-five. His first wife, her fourth husband. Regarded as an example of the Woodville family increasing their wealth and power. He the son of Richard Woodville 1st Earl Rivers (age 60) and Jacquetta of Luxemburg Duchess Bedford (age 50). She a great granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

In 1466 the Lancastrian Richard Turnstall led the garrison of Harlech Castle [Map] in a raid on Wrexham. The rebels captured Holt Castle [Map]. John "Butcher of England" Tiptoft 1st Earl of Worcester (age 38) was sent to suppress the rebellion.

On 23 May 1467 Antoine "Bastard of Burgundy" (age 46) arrived at Greenwich [Map] with a retinue of 400 people to take part in a great Tournament. He was greeted by John "Butcher of England" Tiptoft 1st Earl of Worcester (age 40).

On 30 May 1467 George York 1st Duke of Clarence (age 17) and John "Butcher of England" Tiptoft 1st Earl of Worcester (age 40) visited Antoine "Bastard of Burgundy" (age 46) at his lodgings in Chelsea.

On 05 Jun 1467 the challenger Edward Woodville Lord Scales (age 11) travelled to London and was conveyed to Ely Palace Camden by John "Butcher of England" Tiptoft 1st Earl of Worcester (age 40).

Before 10 May 1468 John "Butcher of England" Tiptoft 1st Earl of Worcester (age 41) sat in judgement on the Earl of Warwick's (age 39) men who had attempted to steal the ship Trinity for the Earl of Warwick (age 39). In addition to the usual punishment of hanging, drawing and quartering Tiptoft also subjected the men's corpses to being impaled, perhaps unique in English punishments, but usual for pirates in Europe. His actions were described as cruel and unmerited by the common people and resulted in Tiptoft being known as 'Butcher'.

Before 03 Jul 1468 Charles "Bold" Valois Duke Burgundy (age 34) and Margaret of York Duchess of Burgundy (age 22) were married at Bruges. She the daughter of Richard Plantagenet 3rd Duke York and Cecily "Rose of Raby" Neville Duchess York (age 53). He the son of Philip "Good" Valois III Duke Burgundy and Isabella Aviz Duchess Burgundy (age 71). They were half second cousins. He a great x 2 grandson of King Edward III of England. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

John Paston (age 24) and John Scott Comptroller (age 45) travelled with Margaret. The marriage re-enforced King Edward IV's connection with the Low Countries.
