THE Queen has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, dated the 24th of January, 1896, to grant the dignity of a Baron of the said United Kingdom unto Sir Frederic Leighton [aged 65], Bart., and the heirs male of his body lawfully begotten, by the name, style, and title of Baron Leighton, of Stretton, in the counly of Salop.
Note. He died the following day and the title became extinct.
