On 26th April 1729 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool was born to Colonel Charles Jenkinson [aged 36].

In 1750 [his father] Colonel Charles Jenkinson [aged 57] died.

In 1767 Charles Cope 2nd Baronet [aged 24] and [his future wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 22] were married at her house in Hertford Street. She by marriage Lady Cope of Bruern in Oxfordshire.

On 9th February 1769 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 39] and Amelia Watts [aged 18] were married at St Mary's Church, Bryanston Square, Marylebone. The difference in their ages was 21 years.

On 7th June 1770 [his son] Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool was born to Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 41] and [his wife] Amelia Watts [aged 19]. His mother died one month later. He married (1) 25th March 1795 Louisa Theodosia Hervey Countess Liverpool, daughter of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol and Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol (2) 22nd September 1822 Mary Chester Countess of Liverpool.

On 7th July 1770 [his wife] Amelia Watts [aged 19] died from childbirth one month after the birth of her son Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool .

On 22nd June 1782 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 53] and Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 37] were married at her house in Hertford Street.

On 29th May 1784 [his son] Charles Jenkinson 3rd Earl Liverpool was born to Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 55] and [his wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 39]. He married 19th July 1810 Julia Evelyn Medley Shuckburgh-Evelyn, daughter of George Shuckburgh-Evelyn 6th Baronet and Julia Annabella Evelyn, and had issue.

In 1786 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 56] was created 1st Baron Hawkesbury of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire. [his wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 41] by marriage Baroness Hawkesbury of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire.

Abbot John Whethamstede’s Chronicle of the Abbey of St Albans

Abbot John Whethamstede's Register aka Chronicle of his second term at the Abbey of St Albans, 1451-1461, is a remarkable text that describes his first-hand experience of the beginning of the Wars of the Roses including the First and Second Battles of St Albans, 1455 and 1461, respectively, their cause, and their consequences, not least on the Abbey itself. His text also includes Loveday, Blore Heath, Northampton, the Act of Accord, Wakefield, and Towton, and ends with the Coronation of King Edward IV. In addition to the events of the Wars of the Roses, Abbot John, or his scribes who wrote the Chronicle, include details in the life of the Abbey such as charters, letters, land exchanges, visits by legates, and disputes, which provide a rich insight into the day-to-day life of the Abbey, and the challenges faced by its Abbot.

In 1790 John Frederick Sackville 3rd Duke Dorset [aged 44] and [his step-daughter] Arabella Diana Cope 3rd Duchess Dorset [aged 21] were married. She by marriage Duchess Dorset, 9th Countess Dorset. The difference in their ages was 23 years. She the daughter of Charles Cope 2nd Baronet and [his wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 45]. They were fourth cousin once removed.

On 4th April 1791 George Gordon 9th Marquess Huntly [aged 29] and [his step-daughter] Catherine Anne Cope [aged 20] were married. She the daughter of Charles Cope 2nd Baronet and [his wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 46]. He the son of Charles Gordon 4th Earl Aboyne [aged 65] and Margaret Stewart Countess Aboyne.

On 28th December 1794 Charles Gordon 4th Earl Aboyne [aged 68] died. His son George [aged 33] succeeded 5th Earl Aboyne. [his step-daughter] Catherine Anne Cope [aged 23] by marriage Countess Aboyne.

On 25th March 1795 Robert Jenkinson 2nd Earl Liverpool [aged 24] and Louisa Theodosia Hervey Countess Liverpool [aged 28] were married at Wimbledon, Surrey. She the daughter of Frederick Augustus Hervey 4th Earl Bristol [aged 64] and Elizabeth Davers Countess Bristol [aged 62]. He the son of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 65] and Amelia Watts.

In 1796 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 66] was created 1st Earl Liverpool. [his wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 51] by marriage Countess Liverpool.

On 7th April 1801 Charles Whitworth 1st Earl Whitworth [aged 48] and [his step-daughter] Arabella Diana Cope 3rd Duchess Dorset [aged 32] were married. She the daughter of Charles Cope 2nd Baronet and [his wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 56].

In 1807 [his son-in-law] James Grimston Baron Verulam [aged 31] and Charlotte Jenkinson were married. She the daughter of Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 77].

On 17th December 1808 Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool [aged 79] died. His son Robert [aged 38] succeeded 2nd Earl Liverpool, 2nd Baron Hawkesbury of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire, 8th Baronet Jenkinson of Walcot in Oxfordshire and of Hawkesbury in Gloucestershire. Louisa Theodosia Hervey Countess Liverpool [aged 41] by marriage Countess Liverpool.

On 1st October 1827 [his former wife] Catherine Bishopp Countess Liverpool [aged 82] died at her house in Hertford Street.

The History of William Marshal, Earl of Chepstow and Pembroke, Regent of England. Book 1 of 2, Lines 1-10152.

The History of William Marshal was commissioned by his son shortly after William’s death in 1219 to celebrate the Marshal’s remarkable life; it is an authentic, contemporary voice. The manuscript was discovered in 1861 by French historian Paul Meyer. Meyer published the manuscript in its original Anglo-French in 1891 in two books. This book is a line by line translation of the first of Meyer’s books; lines 1-10152. Book 1 of the History begins in 1139 and ends in 1194. It describes the events of the Anarchy, the role of William’s father John, John’s marriages, William’s childhood, his role as a hostage at the siege of Newbury, his injury and imprisonment in Poitou where he met Eleanor of Aquitaine and his life as a knight errant. It continues with the accusation against him of an improper relationship with Margaret, wife of Henry the Young King, his exile, and return, the death of Henry the Young King, the rebellion of Richard, the future King Richard I, war with France, the death of King Henry II, and the capture of King Richard, and the rebellion of John, the future King John. It ends with the release of King Richard and the death of John Marshal.

[his daughter] Charlotte Jenkinson Countess Verulam was born to Charles Jenkinson 1st Earl Liverpool. She married (1) 1807 James Walter Grimston 1st Earl Verulam, son of James Grimston 3rd Viscount Grimston and Harriet Walter Viscountess Grimston, and had issue (2) 20th November 1837 Francis Vernon-Harcourt, son of Archbishop Edward Venables-Vernon-Harcourt and Anne Leveson-Gower.
