29th October 1892. Son Robert Newman 1st Baron Mamhead [aged 21] succeeded.

2nd November 1945. First Cousin Once Removed Ralph Alured Newman 5th Baronet [aged 43] succeeded.

20th July 1968. Son Geoffrey Robert Newman 6th Baronet [aged 21] succeeded.

The London Gazette 19359. 22nd February 1836. The King has also been pleased to direct letters patent to be passed under the Great Seal, granting the dignity of a Baronet of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, to the following Gentlemen, and the respective heirs male of their bodies lawfully begotten, viz.

The Reverend John Barker Mill [aged 32], of Mottisfont, in the county of Southampton.

Robert William Newman [aged 59], of Stokeley, and of Mamhead, in the county of Devon, Esq.

Henry Charles Paulet [aged 22], of West Hill-lodge, in the county of Southampton, Esq.

Sir Frederick Adair Roe [aged 46], of Brundish, in the county of Suffolk, Knt, Chief Magistrate of the Police Office, Bow-street, in the county of Middlesex.

Vice-Admiral Sir Charles Rowley [aged 65], of Hill-house, in the county of Berks, KCB.

Joseph Sawle Graves Sawle, of Penrice, in the county of Cornwall, and of Barley, in the county of Devon, Esq.

On 24th January 1848 Robert Newman 1st Baronet [aged 71] died. His son Robert [aged 25] succeeded 2nd Baronet Newman of Stokeley and Mamhead in Devon.

On 5th November 1854 at the Battle of Inkerman..

Granville Charles Cornwallis Eliot [aged 26] and Cavendish Hubert Greville [aged 19] were killed.

Poulett George Henry Somerset [aged 32] fought; his horse was killed under him by a shell.

William Archer Amherst 3rd Earl Amherst [aged 18] was wounded.

Hedworth Jolliffe 2nd Baron Hylton [aged 25] and Edwyn Sherard Burnaby [aged 24] fought.

Captain William Kent Allix [aged 31] was killed in action whilst serving with the 1st Royal Regiment.

Robert Lydston Newman 2nd Baronet [aged 32] was killed in action. His brother Lydston [aged 30] succeeded 3rd Baronet Newman of Stokeley and Mamhead in Devon.

Charles Francis Seymour-Conway [aged 35] was killed in action.

On 29th October 1892 Lydston Newman 3rd Baronet [aged 68] died. His son Robert [aged 21] succeeded 4th Baronet Newman of Stokeley and Mamhead in Devon.

On 2nd November 1945 Robert Newman 1st Baron Mamhead [aged 74] died unmarried. Baron Mamhead of Exeter in Devon extinct. His first cousin once removed Ralph [aged 43] succeeded 5th Baronet Newman of Stokeley and Mamhead in Devon.

On 20th July 1968 Ralph Alured Newman 5th Baronet [aged 66] died. His son Geoffrey [aged 21] succeeded 6th Baronet Newman of Stokeley and Mamhead in Devon.
