On 30th June 1744 John Stuart 1st Marquis of the Isle of Bute was born to John Stuart 3rd Earl Bute [aged 31] and Mary Wortley-Montagu Countess Bute [aged 26] at Mount Stuart House. He married (1) 12th November 1766 his half fifth cousin once removed Charlotte Jane Windsor Marchioness Bute, daughter of Herbert Windsor 2nd Viscount Windsor and Alice Clavering Viscountess Windsor, and had issue (2) 28th January 1800 Frances Coutts Marchioness Bute and had issue.
