On 08 Jan 1107 [his brother] Edgar "The Valiant" I King Scotland (age 33) died. His brother Alexander "Fierce" I King Scotland (age 29) succeeded I King Scotland.

Florence of Worcester Continuation. 25 Apr 1123. Alexander (age 45), king of Scots, died on the seventh of the calends of May [25th April].

1130 Battle of Stracathro

16 Apr 1130. The Battle of Brechin took place around three miles north of Brechin. The rebellion was led by two pretenders to the Scottish crown, [his illegitimate son] Malcolm Mac Alexander illegitimate son of Alexander I of Scotland, and Angus of Moray who was the grandson of King Lulach who had been deposed and killed by [his brother] David (age 46) taking advantage of King David I of Scotland (age 46) being in England.
