On 11 Jul 1469 [his father] George York 1st Duke of Clarence (age 19) and [his mother] Isabel Neville Duchess Clarence (age 17) were married by Archbishop George Neville (age 37) at the Église Notre-Dame de Calais [Map] witnessed by [his grandfather] Richard "Kingmaker" Neville Earl Warwick, 6th Earl Salisbury (age 40). She by marriage Duchess Clarence. She the daughter of Richard "Kingmaker" Neville Earl Warwick, 6th Earl Salisbury (age 40) and Anne Beauchamp 16th Countess Warwick (age 42). She a great x 3 granddaughter of King Edward III of England.

On 25 Feb 1475 Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick was born to George York 1st Duke of Clarence (age 25) and Isabel Neville Duchess Clarence (age 23) at Warwick Castle [Map]. He a great x 3 grandson of King Edward III of England. Coefficient of inbreeding 5.36%.

Trial and Execution of Ankarette Twynyho

On 22 Dec 1476 [his mother] Isabel Neville Duchess Clarence (age 25) died from childbirth. The cause of death unknown but likely a consequence of the birth of her fourth child Richard in early October. She was buried in Tewkesbury Abbey [Map]. [his father] George York 1st Duke of Clarence (age 27) believed she had been murdered by Ankarette Hawkeston aka Twynyho. See Trial and Execution of Ankarette Twynyho.

Ankarette Hawkeston aka Twynyho: Around 1435 William Twynyho and she were married.

Calendars. 17 Feb 1478. Grant for life to Richard Ferrers of the off of steward of lordship Westminster, of Fawnhope, co. Hereford, in the king's hands by reason of the minority of Edward (age 2) son of [his father] George, late duke of Clarence (age 28), with the accustomed fees. By p.s.

Note. The date here somewhat confusing since George York 1st Duke of Clarence (age 28) wasn't executed until a day later on 18 Feb 1478.

Execution of George Duke of Clarence

On 18 Feb 1478 [his father] George York 1st Duke of Clarence (age 28) was drowned in a butt of wine (Malmsey) wine in the Bowyer Tower in the Tower of London [Map]. Duke Clarence, Earl Salisbury extinct. "in a butt of Malmsey wine" may refer to 1 a butt full of Malmsey wine or 2 a butt that once contained Malmsey wine that was subsequently re-used for another purpose such as washing or bathing.

William Hussey (age 35) conducted the impeachment of the Duke of Clarence for treason.

[his uncle] Richard, Duke of Gloucester (age 25) succeeded 2nd Earl Richmond.

The only other person known to have been executed, or ritually killed, by drowning in a butt of wine is Muirchertach mac Muiredaig High King of Ireland (as reported by the Annals of Ulster) in his case at Newgrange Passage Tomb [Map].

Dorset; grant to him, during minority, of the office of steward of all lordships, manors and lands in the said county in the king's hands by reason of the minority of Edward (age 3), son of the said George (deceased), with 10 marks yearly from the issues of the premises; and grant to him for life of the office of constable and the custody of the castle of Warden and the office of constable and the custody of the castle of Corffe, with the accustomed fees from the issues of the king's lordships there and all other profits. By p.s.

Edward of Middleham created Prince of Wales

On 08 Sep 1483 Edward York Prince of Wales (age 9) was created Prince of Wales and 1st Earl Chester at York Minster [Map]. His parents [his uncle] Richard III (age 30) and [his aunt] Anne Neville (age 27) attended as did Edward Stafford 2nd Earl Wiltshire (age 13).

Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 8) and John York (age 12) were knighted.

Note. Hall's Chronicle places the date at 05 Jul 1483.

Queen Consort Anne Neville Dies

On 16 Mar 1485 [his aunt] Anne Neville Queen Consort England (age 28) died at Westminster Palace [Map]. Probably of tuberculosis. The day she died there was an Eclipse of the Sun; a bad omen to some. There were rumours of foul play.

Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 10) abeyance terminated 6th Baron Montagu, 9th Baron Montagu.

After 22 Aug 1485 Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 10) was imprisoned at Tower of London [Map].

On 12 Feb 1499 Ralph Wulford (age 20) was executed for having claimed to be Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 23).

Hall's Chronicle 1499. 16 Nov 1499. Nov 1499. Perkyn (age 25) (of whom rehearsal was made before) being now in hold, could not leave with the destruction of himself, and confusion of other that had associate themselves with him, but began now to study which way to fly and escape. For he by false persuasions and liberal promises corrupted Strangways, Blewet, Astwood and long Rogier his keepers, being servants to Sir John, Digby Lieutenant. In so much that they (as it was at their arraignment openly proved) intended to have slain the said Master, and to have set Perkyn and the Earl of Warwick (age 24) at large, which Earl was by them made privy of this enterprise, and thereunto (as all natural creatures love liberty) to his destruction assented, but this crafty device and subtle imagination, being opened and disclosed, sorted to none effect, and so he being repulsed and put back from all hope and good luck with all his accomplices and confederates, and John Awater sometime Mayor of Corffe in Ireland, one of his founders, and his son, were the sixteen day of November arraigned and condemned at Westminster.

Wriothesley's Chronicle 1485-1509. 23 Nov 1499. Perkin Werbeck (age 25) putt to death at Tyburne [Map]; and the Earle of Warwyke (age 24),b sonne to the Duke of Clarence, who had bene kept in the Tower [Map] from the age of 11 years unto the end of 14 yeares, was beheaded at the Tower Hill [Map].c A great pestilence throughout all England.

Note b. Edward Earl of Warwick (age 24) was the last remaining male of the honse of Plantagenet. He bore the title of Earl of Warwick, though it does not appear that his father's attainder had been reversed.

Note c. Warbeck (age 25) was executed at Tyburn [Map] on the 23rd Norember, together with O'Water, Mayor of C!ork, and the Earl of Warwick on the following day, or, according to some anthorities, on the 28th.

Note. "though it does not appear that his father's attainder had been reversed." Edward's (age 24) claim was from through his mother Isabel Neville Duchess Clarence, daughter of Richard "Kingmaker" Neville Earl Warwick, 6th Earl Salisbury and [his grandmother] Anne Beauchamp 16th Countess Warwick, whose claim had come from her mother Anne Beauchamp, so his father's attainder was irrelevant.

Trial and Execution of Perkin Warbreck and Edward Earl of Warwick

On 28 Nov 1499 Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 24) was executed at Tower Hill [Map].

Earl Warwick, Baron Montagu forfeit.

Documentation held in Spain apparently describes Catherine of Aragon's (age 13) parents Ferdinand II King Aragon (age 47) and Isabella Queen Castile (age 48) expressing concern that Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 24) was a potential claimant to throne, and being reluctant for their daughter to marry Arthur Prince of Wales (age 13) whilst there was a threat to his (age 13) accession causing King Henry VII of England and Ireland (age 42) to use Perkin Warbreck's (deceased) attempted escape with Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 24) as a means to an end.

Hall's Chronicle 1499. 28 Nov 1499. And upon his [Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 24)] confession he had his judgement, and according thereunto, the 28th day of November 1499 was brought to the scaffold on the Tower Hill, and there beheaded. The same after his death sprung abroad, the Ferdinand King of Spain would never make full conclusion of the matrimony to be had between Prince Arthur and the Lady Katheryn his daughter nor send her into England as long as this Earl lived. For he imagined that as long as any Earl of Warwick lived, that England should never be cleansed or purged of civil war and privy sedition, so much was the name of Warwick in other regions had in fear and jealousy.

After 28 Nov 1499 Edward "Last Plantagenet" York 17th Earl Warwick (age 24) was buried at Bisham Abbey [Map].
