Around 1678 Henry Hoghton 5th Baronet was born to Charles Hoghton 4th Baronet (age 34) and Mary Skeffington Lady Hoghton.

On 03 Feb 1678 [his grandfather] Richard Hoghton 3rd Baronet (age 62) died. His son [his father] Charles Hoghton 4th Baronet (age 34) succeeded 4th Baronet Hoghton of Hoghton Tower in Lancashire.
