On 20 Feb 1859 John Christopher Willoughby 5th Baronet was born to John Pollard Willoughby 4th Baronet (age 59).

On 23 Mar 1865 [his uncle] Henry Pollard Willoughby 3rd Baronet (age 68) died unmarried. His brother [his father] John Pollard Willoughby 4th Baronet (age 65) succeeded 4th Baronet Willoughby of Baldon House in Oxfordshire.

On 15 Sep 1866 [his father] John Pollard Willoughby 4th Baronet (age 67) died. His son John Christopher Willoughby 5th Baronet (age 7) succeeded 5th Baronet Willoughby of Baldon House in Oxfordshire.

In 1879 John Christopher Willoughby 5th Baronet (age 19) became a Lieutenant in the 3rd Battalion Oxford Light Infantry.

In 1880 John Christopher Willoughby 5th Baronet (age 20) joined the Royal Horse Guards.

In 1882 John Christopher Willoughby 5th Baronet (age 22) served in the Egyptian campaign in 1882 (awarded medal with clasp, and bronze star), in the Nile expedition in 1884–1885 (mentioned in despatches), and with the British South Africa Company's Force in Matabeleland in 1893.

On 16 Apr 1918 John Christopher Willoughby 5th Baronet (age 59) died. He was buried at Kensal Green Cemetery. Baronet Willoughby of Baldon House in Oxfordshire extinct.
