On 19 Dec 1881 [his father] William Payne-Gallwey 2nd Baronet (age 74) died as a result of severe internal injuries sustained after falling upon a turnip while out shooting in the parish of Bagby. His son Ralph Frankland-Payne-Gallwey 3rd Baronet (age 33) succeeded 3rd Baronet Payne-Gallwey of Hampton Hill.
On 13 Sep 1913 [his mother] Emily Anne Frankland-Russell Lady Frankland (age 91) died.
On 14 Sep 1914 [his son] William Thomas Payne-Gallwey (age 33) presumed killed in action at the Battle of Aisne. His body was never recovered and he was commemorated on the La Ferté-sous-Jouarre memorial.
