Around 1652 [his father] Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk (age 23) and [his mother] Anne Somerset Countess Norfolk (age 21) were married. She the daughter of Henry Somerset 1st Marquess Worcester and Anne Russell 2nd Marchioness Worcester. He the son of Henry Howard 22nd Earl Arundel 5th Earl Surrey 2nd Earl Norfolk (age 43) and Elizabeth Stewart Countess Arundel and Norfolk (age 42).

In 1657 Thomas Howard was born to Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk (age 28) and Anne Somerset Countess Norfolk (age 26).

In 1662 [his mother] Anne Somerset Countess Norfolk (age 31) died.

Evelyn's Diary. 01 Aug 1662. [his father] Mr. H. Howard (age 34), his brothers [his uncle] Charles (age 32), [his uncle] Edward (age 25), [his uncle] Bernard (age 21), [his uncle] Philip (age 33), now the Queen's (age 23) Almoner (all brothers of the Duke of Norfolk, still in Italy), came with a great train, and dined with me; Mr. H. Howard (age 34) leaving with me his eldest and youngest sons, [his brother] Henry (age 7) and Thomas (age 5), for three or four days, my son, John (age 7), having been sometime bred up in their father's house.

In 1669 [his father] Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk (age 40) was created 1st Baron Howard of Castle Rising.

In 1672 [his father] Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk (age 43) was created 1st Earl Norwich.

Around 1675 [his father] Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk (age 46) and [his step-mother] Jane Bickerton Duchess Norfolk (age 32) were married. He the son of Henry Howard 22nd Earl Arundel 5th Earl Surrey 2nd Earl Norfolk and Elizabeth Stewart Countess Arundel and Norfolk.

On 13 Dec 1677 [his uncle] Thomas Howard 5th Duke of Norfolk (age 50) died in Padua unmarried. He had suffered mental disabilities all his life. His brother [his father] Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk (age 49) succeeded 6th Duke Norfolk, 24th Earl Arundel Sussex, 7th Earl Surrey, 4th Earl Norfolk, 18th Baron Segrave, 19th Baron Strange Blackmere, 17th Baron Mowbray, 16th Baron Talbot, 15th Baron Furnivall, 14th Baron Maltravers, 14th Baron Arundel. [his step-mother] Jane Bickerton Duchess Norfolk (age 34) by marriage Duchess Norfolk. The marriage being so unpopular with his family they went abroad for some time.

Evelyn's Diary. 25 Aug 1678. There was at Weybridge the [his step-mother] Duchess of Norfolk (age 35), Lord Thomas Howard (age 21) (a worthy and virtuous gentleman, with whom my son (age 23) was sometime bred in Arundel House [Map]), who was newly come from Rome, where he had been some time; also one of the Duke's daughters, by his first [his mother] lady. My [his father] Lord (age 50) leading me about the house made no scruple of showing me all the hiding places for the Popish priests, and where they said mass, for he was no bigoted Papist. He told me he never trusted them with any secret, and used Protestants only in all businesses of importance.

On 11 Dec 1683 [his son] Thomas Howard 8th Duke of Norfolk was born to Thomas Howard (age 26) and [his future wife] Mary Elizabeth Savile (age 20).

On 13 Jan 1684 [his father] Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk (age 55) died. His son [his brother] Henry Howard 7th Duke of Norfolk (age 29) succeeded 7th Duke Norfolk, 25th Earl Arundel Sussex, 8th Earl Surrey, 5th Earl Norfolk, 2nd Earl Norwich, 18th Baron Mowbray, 19th Baron Segrave, 16th Baron Furnivall, 20th Baron Strange Blackmere, 17th Baron Talbot, 15th Baron Maltravers, 15th Baron Arundel, 2nd Baron Howard of Castle Rising, Earl Marshal.

On 05 Jun 1686 [his son] Edward Howard 9th Duke of Norfolk was born to Thomas Howard (age 29) and [his future wife] Mary Elizabeth Savile (age 22).

On 24 Jan 1688 [his son] Philip Howard was born to Thomas Howard (age 31) and [his future wife] Mary Elizabeth Savile (age 24).

Before 09 Nov 1689 Thomas Howard (age 32) and Mary Elizabeth Savile (age 26) were married. He the son of Henry Howard 6th Duke of Norfolk and Anne Somerset Countess Norfolk.

On 09 Nov 1689 Thomas Howard (age 32) died.

Evelyn's Diary. 01 Apr 1700. The [his brother] Duke of Norfolk (age 45) now succeeded in obtaining a divorce from his wife (age 41) by the Parliament for adultery with Sir John Germaine (age 49), a Dutch gamester, of mean extraction, who had got much by gaming; the Duke (age 45) had leave to marry again, so that if he should have children, the Dukedom will go from the late Lord Thomas's children, Papists indeed, but very hopeful and virtuous gentlemen, as was their father. The now Duke (age 45) their uncle is a Protestant.

On 10 Dec 1732 [his former wife] Mary Elizabeth Savile (age 69) died.
