He was buried in the Choir of St Paul's Cathedral [Map] with his first wife [his grandmother] Blanche Plantagenet Duchess Lancaster. King Richard II of England (age 32) witheld the future Henry IV's (age 31) inheritance from him giving Henry (age 31) reason to return to England to claim his lands and titles.

Marriage of Henry IV and Joanna of Navarre

After 1413 [his sister-in-law] Eleanor Holland (age 27) died.

Death of King Henry IV Accession of Henry V

On 20 Mar 1413 [his father] King Henry IV of England (age 45) died in the Jerusalem Chamber, Cheyneygates, Westminster Abbey [Map] in Westminster Abbey confirming a prophesy that he would die in Jerusalem. His son [his brother] King Henry V of England (age 26) succeeded V King England. His sons King Henry V of England (age 26) and [his brother] Humphrey Lancaster 1st Duke Gloucester (age 22) were present. He was buried in the Chancel of Canterbury Cathedral [Map].

After 1417 John Cockayne (age 47) enlisted with Thomas Lancaster 1st Duke of Clarence (age 28) for military operations in the English Channel.

And the same tyme the kyng wanne the towne of Tooke and assaylyd the castelle, the whyche castelle on Syn Lauerens evynne was yolde unto the kynge, and he gave hyt unto hys brother the Duke of Clarens (age 28) whithe alle the lorschippys dependaunt there too; and thenne the Duke of Clarens (age 28) roode forthe to Cane [Map] whythe othyr lordys whythe hym. And one oure Lady evyn, the Assumpcyon, he mustryd hys men by-fore the towne of Cane [Map]; and the xij day of August the kyng layde sege to Cane, and that contynuyd tylle the day of the Natyvyte of oure Lady nexte folowynge; uppon the same day the towne whythe grete sawte was yoldyd and wonne. Siege of Rouen

On 29 Jul 1418 the English forces commenced the Siege of Rouen. Robert Willoughby 6th Baron Willoughby (age 33) fought. John Blount (age 30) died. William Harrington (age 45), the King's Standard Bearer, was wounded.

Walter Hungerford 1st Baron Hungerford (age 40) fought.

[his step-son] Henry Beaufort 2nd Earl Somerset (age 17) was killed. His brother [his step-son] John Beaufort 1st Duke Somerset (age 15) succeeded 3rd Earl Somerset.

Battle of Baugé

On 23 Mar 1421 the Dauphin's (age 18) French army and a Scottish army heavily defeated the English army at the Battle of Baugé. On the French side Étienne Vignolles "La Hire" fought. On the Scottish side John Stewart 2nd Earl Buchan (age 40) and John Stewart of Darnley 1st Count Évreux (age 41) fought. William Douglas (age 37) was killed.

On the English side [his step-son] John Beaufort 1st Duke Somerset (age 18), [his uncle] Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter (age 44), [his step-son] Thomas Beaufort Count Perche (age 16) and John Holland 2nd Duke Exeter (age 26) were captured. John Beaufort 1st Duke Somerset (age 18) would be captive for the next seventeen years. Thomas Beaufort 1st Duke Exeter (age 44) was released in 1422. Thomas Beaufort Count Perche (age 16) was released around 1427 in a prisoner exchange.
