On 14 May 1711 Reverend Barton Wallop and [his future sister-in-law] Camilla Powlett-Smyth were married. They had two children. They were second cousins.

Before 27 Aug 1729 [his father] William Townshend (age 27) and [his mother] Henrietta Paulett (age 29) were married.

On 27 Aug 1729 Charles Townshend 1st Baron Bayning was born to William Townshend (age 27) and Henrietta Paulett (age 29). He was educated at Eton College [Map] and Clare College, Cambridge University.

On 29 Jan 1738 [his father] William Townshend (age 36) died.

In 1755 [his mother] Henrietta Paulett (age 54) died.

In 1765 Charles Townshend 1st Baron Bayning (age 35) was appointed Lord of the Admiralty which position he held until 1770.

In 1770 Charles Townshend 1st Baron Bayning (age 40) was appointed Lord of the Treasury which position he held until 1777.

On 21 Aug 1777 Charles Townshend 1st Baron Bayning (age 47) and Annabella Smith-Powlett (age 23) were married at Lambeth Palace [Map]. The difference in their ages was 24 years. They were first cousin once removed.

Between Apr 1783 and Dec 1783 Charles Townshend 1st Baron Bayning (age 54) was appointed Treasurer of the Navy.

He was a decendant on his mother's side of Anne Bayning Viscountess Bayning by her daughter Elizabeth Murray and her daughter [his grandmother] Anne Egerton mother of [his mother] Henrietta Paulett who was his mother. [his wife] Annabella Smith-Powlett (age 42) by marriage Baroness Bayning of Foxley in Berkshire.

On 08 Jun 1797 [his son] Henry William Powlett 3rd Baron Bayning was born to Charles Townshend 1st Baron Bayning (age 67) and [his wife] Annabella Smith-Powlett (age 42). He was educated at Eton College [Map] and St John's College, Cambridge University [Map]. Coefficient of inbreeding 3.24%.

On 19 May 1810 Charles Townshend 1st Baron Bayning (age 80) died. His son [his son] Charles Powlett 2nd Baron Bayning (age 24) succeeded 2nd Baron Bayning of Foxley in Berkshire.

On 03 Jan 1825 [his former wife] Annabella Smith-Powlett (age 70) died at Chislehurst, Kent.
