Evelyn's Diary. 06 Jun 1687. I visited my [his mother] Lady Pierpoint, daughter to [his grandfather] Sir John Evelyn, of Deane [in Wilts], now widow of [his father] Mr. Pierpoint, and mother of the [his brother] Earl of Kingston. She was now engaged in the marriage of my cousin, Evelyn Pierpoint (age 32), her second son.

She was daughter to [his grandfather] Sir John Evelyn, of Wilts, my father's nephew; she was widow to [his father] William Pierrepoint, brother to the Marquis of Dorchester, and mother to Evelyn Pierrepoint, Earl of Kingston (age 44); a most excellent and prudent lady.
In 1706 Evelyn Pierrepont 1st Duke Kingston upon Hull (age 51) was created 1st Marquess Dorchester.
After 26 Apr 1707 [his son-in-law] John Erskine 23rd Earl Mar (age 32) and [his daughter] Frances Pierrepont Countess Mar were married. She by marriage Countess Mar. His grandson Evelyn Pierrepont 2nd Duke Kingston upon Hull (age 15) succeeded 2nd Duke Kingston upon Hull, 2nd Marquess Dorchester, 6th Earl Kingston upon Hull, 6th Viscount Newark, 6th Baron Pierrepont of Holme Pierrepoint.
