Biography of Joseph Eyles 1690-1740

In or before 1673 [his father] Francis Eyles 1st Baronet and [his mother] Elizabeth Ayley were married.

Around 1690 Joseph Eyles was born to Francis Eyles 1st Baronet and Elizabeth Ayley.

In 1714 Joseph Eyles (age 24) was appointed Director of the East India Company which position he held until 1717.

On 01 Dec 1714 [his father] Francis Eyles 1st Baronet was created 1st Baronet Eyles of London by King George I of Great Britain and Ireland (age 54).

On 24 May 1716 [his father] Francis Eyles 1st Baronet died. His son [his brother] John Eyles 2nd Baronet (age 33) succeeded 2nd Baronet Eyles of London.

In 1717 Joseph Eyles (age 27) was appointed Director of the Bank of England which position he held until 1721.

In 1739 Joseph Eyles (age 49) was appointed Alderman of Cheapside.

Before 08 Feb 1740 Joseph Eyles (age 50) and Sarah Jeffries were married.

On 08 Feb 1740 Joseph Eyles (age 50) died.
