On 27 Dec 1760 Thomas Bateman was born to Richard Bateman (age 33) and Elizabeth Leek. He was baptised at St Giles Church, Hartington [Map] on 28 Sep 1760.

In 1784 [his father] Richard Bateman (age 56) died.

On 13 Apr 1786 Thomas Bateman (age 25) and Rebekah Clegg (age 20) were married at Parish Church of Manchester [Map].

In 1787 [his son] William Bateman was born to Thomas Bateman (age 26) and [his wife] Rebekah Clegg (age 21).

On 12 Jan 1792 [his son] Thomas Bateman was born to Thomas Bateman (age 31) and [his wife] Rebekah Clegg (age 26).
