Biography of Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet 1702-1765

In 1702 Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet was born to Robert Palmer of Medbourne in Leicestershire. He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University.

On 29 Dec 1732 [his uncle] Geoffrey Palmer 3rd Baronet (age 77) died without issue. His nephew Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet (age 30) succeeded 4th Baronet Palmer of Carlton in Northampton.

On 02 Oct 1734 [his future brother-in-law] Henry Harpur 5th Baronet (age 26) and Caroline Manners Lady Harpur and Burdett were married. She the daughter of John Manners 2nd Duke Rutland and Lucy Sherard Duchess Rutland (age 49).

In 1735 Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet (age 33) and Jemima Harpur were married.

On or before 20 Feb 1735 [his son] John Palmer 5th Baronet was born to Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet (age 33) and [his wife] Jemima Harpur. He was baptised 20 Feb 1735. He was educated at Emmanuel College, Cambridge University from 1752.

In 1740 Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet (age 38) was appointed High Sheriff of Northamptonshire.

Before 22 Jun 1740 Henry Gough 1st Baronet (age 32) and [his sister-in-law] Catherine Harpur Lady Gough were married. Catherine Harpur Lady Gough by marriage Lady Gough-Calthorpe of Edgbaston in Warwickshire.

On 22 Jun 1740 [his sister-in-law] Catherine Harpur Lady Gough died.

In 1741 [his father-in-law] John Harpur 4th Baronet (age 62) died. His son [his brother-in-law] Henry Harpur 5th Baronet (age 32) succeeded 5th Baronet Harpur of Calke Abbey in Derbyshire. Caroline Manners Lady Harpur and Burdett by marriage Lady Harpur of Calke Abbey in Derbyshire.

On 07 Jun 1748 [his brother-in-law] Henry Harpur 5th Baronet (age 39) died. His son Henry Harpur 6th Baronet (age 9) succeeded 6th Baronet Harpur of Calke Abbey in Derbyshire.

In 1754 Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet (age 52) was elected MP Leicestershire which seat he held until 1765.

On 22 Jun 1763 [his wife] Jemima Harpur died.

On 14 Jun 1765 Thomas Palmer 4th Baronet (age 63) died. His son [his son] John Palmer 5th Baronet (age 30) succeeded 5th Baronet Palmer of Carlton in Northampton.
