The River Teme rises around three miles south of Dolfor [Map] in Powys. For much of its upper course it forms the border between England and Wales. It passes through, or near, Felindre, Radnoshire [Map], Knighton, Radnorshire [Map], Leintwardine, Herefordshire [Map], Bromfield, Shropshire [Map], Ludlow, Shropshire [Map], Tenbury Wells, Worcestershire [Map], Stanford Bridge, Worcestershire [Map], Shelsey Beauchamp, Worcestershire [Map], Leigh, Worcestershire [Map] and Bransford, Worcestershire [Map] after which it joins the River Severn around 3 km south of Worcester, Worcestershire [Map].
The River Onny rise in the Shropshire Hills it is formed by the River West Onny and River East Onny which converge 500m south of Hardwick, Shropshire [Map]. Thereafter the River Onny passes Cravens Arms, Shropshire [Map] and Stokesay Castle, Shropshire [Map] before joining the River Teme at Bromfield, Shropshire [Map].

On 03 Sep 1758 Henrietta Antonia Herbert 3rd Countess Powis was born to Henry Herbert 1st Earl Powis (age 55) and Barbara Herbert Countess Powis (age 23) at Oakly Park, Bromfield. She a great x 3 granddaughter of King James II of England Scotland and Ireland.

The Itinerary of Archbishop Baldwin through Wales: Book 2 Chapter 13. From Wenloch, we passed by the little cell of Brumfeld,180 the noble castle of Ludlow [Map], through Leominster [Map] to Hereford [Map] leaving on our right hand the districts of Melenyth and Elvel; thus (describing as it were a circle) we came to the same point from which we had commenced this laborious journey through Wales.
Note 180. It appears that a small college of prebendaries, or secular canons, resided at Bromfield in the reign of king Henry I.; Osbert, the prior, being recorded as a witness to a deed made before the year 1148. In 1155, they became Benedictines, and surrendered church and lands to the abbey of St. Peter's at Gloucester, whereupon a prior and monks were placed there, and continued till the dissolution. An ancient gateway and some remains of the priory still testify the existence of this religious house, the local situation of which, near the confluence of the rivers Oney and Teme, has been accurately described by Leland.

On 04 Aug 1859 Robert Windsor-Clive (age 35) died at 53 Lower Grosvenor Street Belgravia. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Bromfield.
