Around 1151 William D'Aubigny was born to William "Le Breton" D'Aubigny of Belvoir (age 21) and Maud de Clare (age 19).

In or before 1171 [his father] William "Le Breton" D'Aubigny of Belvoir (age 41) and [his mother] Maud de Clare (age 38) were married.

In 1186 [his father] William "Le Breton" D'Aubigny of Belvoir (age 56) died. His son William D'Aubigny (age 35) inherited Belvoir Castle [Map].

Around 1188 [his son] William D'Aubigny was born to William D'Aubigny (age 37) and [his future wife] Margaret Umfraville (age 23).

In 1192 William D'Aubigny (age 41) and Margaret Umfraville (age 27) were married.

Before Sep 1198 [his wife] Margaret Umfraville (age 33) died.

Second Battle of Lincoln

On 20 May 1217 William Marshal 1st Earl Pembroke (age 71) and Ranulf de Blondeville Gernon 6th Earl Chester 1st Earl Lincoln (age 47) fought at Lincoln, Lincolnshire [Map] during the Second Battle of Lincoln.

Rebels William Mowbray 6th Baron Thirsk (age 44) and William Ros (age 17) were captured. William D'Aubigny (age 66) fought for the rebels. Thomas Chateaudun I Count Perche (age 22) died fighting for the rebels.

Bishop Peter de Roches led a division of the royal army and earned some distinction by his valour.

On 11 Oct 1226 [his former brother-in-law] Richard Umfraville (age 63) died.

On 06 May 1236 William D'Aubigny (age 85) died at Uffington, Leicestershire. His remains were buried at Newstead Abbey [Map] with his heart being buried at Belvoir Priory [Map].

Chronica Majora. 06 May 1236. About this time, too, on the 6th of May, William Daubeny the elder (age 85), a bold and magnanimous knight, and one endowed with all noble qualities, closed his life at an advanced age, leaving his son [his son] William (age 48), his legitimate heir, who took after his father in every respect.
