On 29 Sep 1791 [her future brother-in-law] Prince Frederick Hanover Duke York of York (age 28) and Frederica Charlotte Hohenzollern (age 24) were married at Charlottenburg, Berlin. She the daughter of Frederick William II King Prussia (age 47) and Crown Princess Elisabeth Christine of Prussia (age 44). He the son of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland (age 53) and Charlotte Mecklenburg Strelitz Queen Consort England (age 47). They were third cousins. She a great x 2 granddaughter of King George I of Great Britain and Ireland.

On 13 Aug 1792 Queen Adelaide of England was born to Georg I Duke of Saxe Meiningen (age 31).

On 18 May 1797 King Frederick Wilhelm Karl Württemberg (age 42) and [her illegitimate sister-in-law] Princess Charlotte Hanover (age 30) were married. She the illegitmate daughter of King George III of Great Britain and Ireland (age 58) and Charlotte Mecklenburg Strelitz Queen Consort England (age 52). They were third cousins. He a great x 2 grandson of King George I of Great Britain and Ireland.

She the illegitmate daughter of King William IV of the United Kingdom (age 56) and Dorothea Bland aka "Mrs Jordan". He the son of William Hay 17th Earl Erroll and Alicia Eliot Countess Erroll.

On 08 Apr 1822 [her son] Stillborn twins Fitzclarence was born to [her husband] King William IV of the United Kingdom (age 56) and Queen Adelaide of England (age 29) at Bushy Park Richmond, Surrey.

On 13 Aug 1825 Philip Sidney 1st Baron De Lisle and Dudley (age 25) and [her illegitimate step-daughter] Sophia Fitzclarence Baroness De Lisle and Dudley (age 29) were married. She the illegitmate daughter of King William IV of the United Kingdom (age 59) and Dorothea Bland aka "Mrs Jordan".

On 05 Jul 1827 John Kennedy Erskine (age 25) and [her illegitimate step-daughter] Augusta Fitzclarence (age 23) were married. She the illegitmate daughter of King William IV of the United Kingdom (age 61) and Dorothea Bland aka "Mrs Jordan". He the son of Archibald Kennedy 1st Marquess of Ailsa (age 57) and Margaret Erskine Marchioness Ailsa (age 55).

Kingston Bridge [Map] is a bridge over the River Thames opened on 17 Jul 1828 by the future Queen (age 35) then Duchess of Clarence.

On 05 Oct 1828 [her illegitimate sister-in-law] Princess Charlotte Hanover (age 62) died.

Death of King George IV

On 26 Jun 1830 [her brother-in-law] King George IV of Great Britain and Ireland (age 67) died. His brother [her husband] King William IV of the United Kingdom (age 64) succeeded IV King Great Britain and Ireland. Queen Adelaide of England (age 37) by marriage Queen Consort England. Duke Clarence and St Andrews merged with the Crown.

He was attended by Jonathan Wathen Phipps aka Waller 1st Baronet (age 60).

On 27 Dec 1830 Lucius Cary 10th Viscount Falkland (age 27) and [her illegitimate step-daughter] Amelia Fitzclarence Viscountess Falkland (age 23) were married at the Brighton Royal Pavilion. [her husband] King William IV (age 65) gave away his daughter. The service was conducted by Bishop Charles Richard Sumner. She the illegitmate daughter of King William IV of the United Kingdom (age 65) and Dorothea Bland aka "Mrs Jordan".

On 10 Apr 1837 [her illegitimate step-daughter] Sophia Fitzclarence Baroness De Lisle and Dudley (age 40) died.

Death of King William IV Succession of Queen Victoria

On 20 Jun 1837 [her husband] King William IV of the United Kingdom (age 71) died at Windsor Castle [Map]. His niece Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom (age 18) succeeded I Queen Great Britain and Ireland. His brother [her brother-in-law] Ernest Augustus King Hanover (age 66) succeeded King Hanover. Frederica Mecklenburg Strelitz Queen Consort Hanover (age 59) by marriage Queen Consort Hanover.

At 5am Francis Nathaniel Conyngham 2nd Marquess Conyngham (age 40) and Archbishop William Howley (age 71) went to Kensington Palace to inform the Princess she was now Queen. Francis Nathaniel Conyngham 2nd Marquess Conyngham (age 40) was the first to address her as 'Your Majesty'.

On 10 Jan 1840 [her former sister-in-law] Princess Elizabeth Hanover (age 69) died.

Wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert

10 Feb 1840. George Hayter (age 47). Wedding of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Hayter included portraits of fifty-six of those present at the occasion and sittings took place over the next year. The Queen (age 20) sat for him in March in her 'Bridal dress, veil, wreath & all', and Prince Albert (age 20) also posed for his portrait several times during the following months. Hayter's family too helped out with his son, Henry, modelling the Prince's costume, while his daughter Mary posed for the Queen's arm and wearing the veil. Victoria's aunt Queen Adelaide (age 47), however, was unwilling to co-operate and the artist had to refer to a miniature for her likeness. Hayter included himself in the painting, on the lower right, with his sketchbook and pencil.

On 22 Sep 1840 [her former sister-in-law] Princess Augusta Sophia Hanover (age 71) died.

In 1841 Queen Adelaide of England (age 48) visited Belton House [Map]. She stayed in the Queen's Room in which the great canopied Rococo-style bed in which the Queen slept has a royal monogram "AR" for Adelaide Regina embroidered on the bedhead.

On 20 Mar 1842 [her illegitimate step-son] George Fitzclarence 1st Earl Munster (age 48) committed suicide. His son William Fitzclarence 2nd Earl Munster (age 17) succeeded 2nd Earl Munster, 2nd Viscount Fitzclarence, 2nd Baron Tewkesbury.

From 1843 to 1846 Queen Adelaide of England (age 53) lived at Witley Court, Worcestershire.

Adeline Horsey Recollections. When we left Bretby, we posted to Lord Howe's at Gopsall, twenty miles away, where we found another large party. Lord Howe (age 47) had married Lord Cardigan's (age 46) sister, and his three daughters were named, not after his or her relatives, but after three of his former loves; Lady Georgina Fane (age 42), Queen Adelaide (age 51), and Emily Bagot. A propos of Lord Howe's (age 47) affection for the Queen Dowager (age 51), the story goes that when some malicious scandal-mongers circulated a rumour that she had had a child by him, everybody exclaimed, "Lord ! How(e) can it be? ".

On 02 Jan 1845 [her illegitimate step-son] Reverend Augustus Fitzclarence (age 39) and Sarah Elizabeth Catherine Gordon (age 17) were married. The difference in their ages was 22 years. He the illegitmate son of King William IV of the United Kingdom and Dorothea Bland aka "Mrs Jordan".

On 02 Dec 1849 Queen Adelaide of England (age 57) died.
