In the name of god Amen the seaven and twentyth daye of Januarie One thousand Sixe hundred twentie ffoure I Thomas WATERHOUSE the elder of Hassellhurst in the Countie of Darbie yeoman being Sicke in bodie but of good and perfect remembrance laude and praise be given unto Almightie god, Doe Constitute and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner an fforme ffollowing
That is to say, ffirst I Commend and Comitt my soule into the handes of Almightie god my maker and Ptector and my bodie to be buried after a Christian maner within the Chappell of Heyffeilde
Ite my debts and funerall expences discharged, I give and bequeath unto Margarett WATERHOUSE Daughter of [his son] Thomas WATERHOUSE (age 30) my eldest Sonne An ewe and a lambe,
Ite I give unto the children of John CRESWELL and Thomas BENNETT my Sonnes in lawe everie of them twelve pence,
Ite I give unto Thomas BENNETT afore said And to Ann his wife sixe shillings eight pence in liewe and ffull satisfaccon of her or their childs pte or other Demandes,
Ite I give and bequeath unto Robt GREENSMITH and to Elizabeth his wife Twelve pence, in liewe and ffull satisfaccon of her or their childs pte or porcon or other Demandes except the Sume of ffoure poundes wich I owe and Do stand Indebted unto the said Robert GREENSMITH and to Elizabeth his wife,
Item I give and bequeath unto Ann WATERHOUSE (age 58) my wife And to [his son] Robert WATERHOUSE (age 26) my Sonne all the rest and remainder of all my goods & cattels aswell imoveable as immoveable to bee equally Devided between them,
And my will is That the said Ann WATERHOUSE (age 58) my wife And Robert WATERHOUSE (age 26) my Sonne shall be executors of this my last will and Testament,
And I nominate and appoint Thomas WATERHOUSE (age 30) my sonne and William BEARD Overseers of this my last will in hope they will see yt pformed according to the trust and repose I putt in them

A true Inventorie of all goods Chattels and Cattels moveable and Immoveable of Thomas WATERHOUSE of Haslehurst in the pish of Glossop and Countie of Darbie yeoman Deceased as they are praysed and valued the daye and yeare above said by William RALINSON of the Highgate in the pish & Countie afore said gentleman, And Thomas WATERHOUSE of the Sprayhouse yeoman And Henery MELLOER and Thomas MELLER of the Townend in the pish of Chappell in Leyffrith and Countie afore said yeoman:

Item I bequeath unto Thomas WATERHOUSE my brother xls & my will is that Otwell WATERHOUSE my brother & Otwell WATERHOUSE als SLAKE or their Assigns shall have the bringinge up of my said son [his son] Thomas WATERHOUSE als LORTE unless his mother doo make him her heire wch if she doo then my will is that she shall have him to governe & have the use of the wholl fforty ponds duringe his nonage.

In the Name of god Amen the 3rd day of November and in the yere of our lorde god[ ] [ ] I Thomas WATERHOUSE of the Hasselynhurst Sycke In bodye and pfect mynde & remembrance thanks be to god make my last wyll & testament in maner & forme folowynge fyrst I be queyth my soule to Almighty god hath [ ] [ ] hys [ ] blode and my bodye to be buryed in the pych churche of All[ ] at glosoppe [ ] my gudds to the worlde as hee [ ] [ ] folows yt ys to wytt I wyll yt all my detts legacys &my funerall be dyscharged and payd of my hole gudds & then I wyll that ye reste of my gudds be devyded and they to paye my detts & brynge me honestlye [home]

In or before 1595 Thomas Waterhouse of Haslehurst (age 30) and Ann Lorte (age 27) were married.
In 1595 [his son] Thomas Waterhouse of Hasselhurst was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Haslehurst (age 30) and [his wife] Ann Lorte (age 28).
In 1599 [his son] Robert Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Haslehurst (age 34) and [his wife] Ann Lorte (age 32).
In 1601 [his son] Elizabeth Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Haslehurst (age 36) and [his wife] Ann Lorte (age 34).
In 1603 [his son] Margaret Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Haslehurst (age 38) and [his wife] Ann Lorte (age 36).
In 1605 [his son] Mary Waterhouse was born to Thomas Waterhouse of Haslehurst (age 40) and [his wife] Ann Lorte (age 38).
[his brother] John WATERHOUSE elder of Heafield: 20 September 1610. In the name of god Amen the xxijth of August the yeare of our lord god 1610 I John WATERHOUSE of heafeild thelder beinge of whole mind & in good & perfect remembrance laude & praise be unto almightyie god make & ordaine this my present testament concerninge herin my last will in maner & forme followinge that is to say first I Commend my soule unto Almighty god my maker & redeemer & my body to buryed in the parishe church of Glossop and I bequeath towards the [Casinge] of both at heafeild viz
Item I will that all my debts & duties as I owe of Right or of Conference to any person or persons be well & truly Contented & payde by myne executors herafter named or els ordained for so to be payde without any delay or contradiction
Item I bequeath unto Otwell WATERHOUSE als SLAKE all such debts as are to me oweinge or otherwise apertaininge unto me by Edward DOWNES of Kinder thelder & John DOWNES sone the saide Edwarde & Robt BEARD of Southhead in kinder [Map] afforesaide & by his persent I make him my assigne of one lease or [ten]ement wch I and Thomas BEARD of [Adlen ton] in the Countye of Chester have of John DOWNES
