In 1339 Reginald "Black" II Duke Guelders (age 44) was created I Duke Guelders.

On 12 Oct 1343 Reginald "Black" II Duke Guelders (age 48) died from a fall from a horse at Arnhem [Map]. His son Reginald III Duke Guelders (age 10) succeeded III Duke Guelders. His wife acted as Regent to her nine year old son for two years.

In 1357 William Jülich V Duke Jülich (age 58) was created I Duke Guelders. Joanna Hainault Duchess Guelders (age 42) by marriage Duchess Guelders.

In 1361 Edward Duke Guelders (age 24) succeeded Duke Guelders when he captured and imprisoned his brother Reginald III Duke Guelders (age 27).

After 24 Aug 1371 Reginald III Duke Guelders (age 38) was released from prison and became Duke Guelders for the brief period before his death four months later.

On 04 Dec 1371 Reginald III Duke Guelders (age 38) died without issue. The Duke Guelders title passed to his sisters and their husband's resulting in a war of succession with William Jülich 3rd Duke Guelders 3rd Duke Jülich (age 7), son of his sister Marie Guelders Duchess Jülich eventually succeeding.

In 1377 William Jülich 3rd Duke Guelders 3rd Duke Jülich (age 12) succeeded 3rd Duke Guelders.

In 1379 William Jülich 3rd Duke Guelders 3rd Duke Jülich (age 14) and Katherine Wittelsbach Duchess Guelders (age 17) were married. She by marriage Duchess Guelders, Duchess Guelders.
