Around 1347 Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell was born to Nicholas Haudlo Burnell 1st Baron Burnell [aged 21] at Acton Burnell Castle [Map].

On 24th November 1350 [his father] Nicholas Haudlo Burnell 1st Baron Burnell [aged 24] was created 1st Baron Burnell 2C by writ of summons.

In 1371 [his son] Edward Burnell was born to Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell [aged 24] and [his future wife] Philippa Pole Baroness Burnell [aged 15]. He married 1. before 1396 his fourth cousin Alice aka Eleanor Strange, daughter of John Strange 6th Baron Strange Knockin and Maud Mohun Baroness Strange Knockin, and had issue 2. before 23rd September 1415 his first cousin Elizabeth Pole, daughter of Michael de la Pole 2nd Earl Suffolk and Katherine Stafford Countess Suffolk.

Around 1375 Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell [aged 28] and Philippa Pole Baroness Burnell [aged 19] were married. She the daughter of Michael de la Pole 1st Earl Suffolk [aged 45] and Katherine Wingfield Countess Suffolk [aged 35].

On 19th January 1383 [his father] Nicholas Haudlo Burnell 1st Baron Burnell [aged 57] died at Shrewsbury, Shropshire [Map]. His son Hugh [aged 36] succeeded 2nd Baron Burnell 2C. [his wife] Philippa Pole Baroness Burnell [aged 27] by marriage Baroness Burnell 2C.

Around 1386 [his wife] Philippa Pole Baroness Burnell [aged 30] died.

Around March 1386 Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell [aged 39] and Joyce Botetort 3rd Baroness Botetort [aged 18] were married. She by marriage Baroness Burnell 2C. The difference in their ages was 21 years.

On 4th April 1386 John Botetort 2nd Baron Botetort [aged 68] died. His granddaughter [his wife] Joyce [aged 18] succeeded 3rd Baroness Botetort.

Before 1396 [his son] Edward Burnell [aged 24] and [his daughter-in-law] Alice aka Eleanor Strange [aged 9] were married. They were fourth cousins.

On 13th November 1396 John Devereux 2nd Baron Devereux [aged 18] died. His sister Joan [aged 17] succeeded 3rd Baroness Devereux.

Around 1397 Walter Fitzwalter 5th Baron Fitzwalter [aged 29] and [his future wife] Joan Devereux 3rd Baroness Devereux Baroness Burnell [aged 18] were married. He the son of Walter Fitzwalter 4th Baron Fitzwalter and Philippa Mohun Duchess York [aged 30]. They were third cousin once removed. He a great x 5 grandson of King Henry "Curtmantle" II of England. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King John of England.

Around 1407 Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell [aged 60] was appointed 112th Knight of the Garter by King Henry IV of England [aged 39].

On 1st January 1407 [his wife] Joyce Botetort 3rd Baroness Botetort [aged 39] died. Baron Botetort abeyant.

Before 29th January 1408 Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell [aged 61] and Joan Devereux 3rd Baroness Devereux Baroness Burnell [aged 29] were married. She by marriage Baroness Burnell 2C. The difference in their ages was 32 years. They were fifth cousin once removed. She a great x 5 granddaughter of King John of England.

On 10th May 1409 [his wife] Joan Devereux 3rd Baroness Devereux Baroness Burnell [aged 30] died. Baron Devereux extinct.

Before 23rd September 1415 [his son] Edward Burnell [aged 44] and [his daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Pole [aged 25] were married. She the daughter of [his former brother-in-law] Michael de la Pole 2nd Earl Suffolk [deceased] and Katherine Stafford Countess Suffolk [aged 39]. They were first cousins. She a great x 4 granddaughter of King Edward I of England.

On 25th October 1415 King Henry V of England [aged 29] defeated a French army at the Battle of Agincourt.

The battle is described by three Chroniclers who were present:

Jean de Waurin: "1, the author of this work, know the truth of the matter, for in that assembly I was among the French".

Jean le Fevre de St Remy: "I who write this, seated on a horse among the baggage at the rear of the battle, along with the other priests who were present".

The anonymous author of the i.e. Deeds of Henry V: "while I was on the other side with the English".

Thomas Camoys 1st Baron Camoys [aged 64] commanded the Rearguard. Richard de Vere 11th Earl of Oxford [aged 30] commanded. Humphrey Lancaster 1st Duke Gloucester [aged 25] was wounded, and was protected by his brother King Henry V of England.

Edward 2nd Duke of York 1st Duke Albemarle [aged 42], commander of the Vanguard, was killed; the most senior English casualty. Duke Albemarle, Earl of Rutland and Earl Cork extinct. His nephew Richard [aged 4] succeeded 3rd Duke York and inherited his estates including Conisbrough Castle [Map].

John Fortescue [aged 35], Dafydd Gam Brecon [aged 35] and [his son] Edward Burnell [aged 44] and Roger Vaughan of Bredwardine [aged 38] were killed.

Michael de la Pole 3rd Earl Suffolk [aged 21] was killed. His brother William [aged 19] succeeded 4th Earl Suffolk, 4th Baron Pole.

On 27th November 1420 Hugh Burnell 2nd Baron Burnell [aged 73] died at Cotton, Suffolk. He was buried at Halesowen Abbey, Shropshire [Map]. Baron Burnell 2C extinct.
