Maternal Family Tree: Elizabeth Spencer Lady Dashwood 1716-1798
On 9th February 1818 [his father] Edward Herbert 2nd Earl Powis [aged 32] and [his mother] Lucy Graham Countess Powis [aged 24] were married. She the daughter of [his grandfather] James Graham 3rd Duke Montrose [aged 62] and [his grandmother] Caroline Maria Montagu Duchess Montrose. He the son of Edward Clive 1st Earl Powis [aged 63] and Henrietta Antonia Herbert 3rd Countess Powis [aged 59].
On 25th November 1825 George Herbert was born to Edward Herbert 2nd Earl Powis [aged 40] and Lucy Graham Countess Powis [aged 32]. He was educated at Eton College [Map] and St John's College, Cambridge University [Map].
On 16th May 1839 [his grandfather] Edward Clive 1st Earl Powis [aged 85] died at 45 Berkeley Square, Mayfair. He was buried at St Mary the Virgin Church, Bromfield. His son [his father] Edward [aged 54] succeeded 2nd Earl Powis. [his mother] Lucy Graham Countess Powis [aged 45] by marriage Countess Powis.
On 17th January 1848 [his father] Edward Herbert 2nd Earl Powis [aged 62] died. he had been shot accidentally in the thigh ten days before by his son George Herbert [aged 22] during a pheasant shoot at Powis Castle [Map]. He died His son [his brother] Edward [aged 29] succeeded 3rd Earl Powis.
Queen Victoria's Journal 1848. 18th January 1848. Windsor Castle [Map]. A fine, frosty morning. — We took a walk after breakfast. — Poor Ld Powis [deceased] has died in a most melancholy way. The whole party were out shooting & his 3rd son [aged 22] accidentally shot his father in the thigh. At 1st he went on well, but unfortunately mortification set in, & he died. It is too dreadful for the unfortunate son. — Vicky [aged 7] sat to Dyce [aged 41] [See image], who began a new drawing. — Mama [aged 61] came to luncheon, & we walked out again afterwards. — Mama, &c — & Ld Liverpool [aged 63] (staying till the end of the week) dined. —
In 1850 George Herbert [aged 24] was ordained. He was appointed Curate at St Mary's Church, Kidderminster.
In 1855 George Herbert [aged 29] was appointed Vicar of St George's Church, Clun [Map].
In 1863 George Herbert [aged 37] and Elizabeth Beatrice Sykes were married. He the son of Edward Herbert 2nd Earl Powis and Lucy Graham Countess Powis [aged 69].
In 1867 George Herbert [aged 41] was appointed Dean of Hereford which office he held until his death in 1894.

On 16th September 1875 [his mother] Lucy Graham Countess Powis [aged 81] died.
On 7th May 1891 [his brother] Edward Herbert 3rd Earl Powis [aged 72] died unmarried at 45 Berkeley Square, Mayfair. He was buried in St Mary's Church, Welshpool. His nephew George [aged 28] succeeded 4th Earl Powis. Violet Ida Evelyn Lane-Fox Countess Powis [aged 26] by marriage Countess Powis.
On 15th March 1894 George Herbert [aged 68] died.
