In 1641 Alexander Leslie 1st Earl Leven [aged 61] was created 1st Earl Leven by King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland [aged 40].
On 4th April 1661 Alexander Leslie 1st Earl Leven [aged 81] died. His grandson Alexander [aged 23] succeeded 2nd Earl Leven. Margaret Howard Countess Leven [aged 26] by marriage Countess Leven.
On 15th July 1664 Alexander Leslie 2nd Earl Leven [aged 27] died. His daughter Margaret [aged 4] succeededCountess Leven. For unknown reasons she is not called the 3rd Countess.
Around 10th October 1673 Francis Seton Montgomery Earl Leven and Margaret Leslie Countess of Leven [aged 14] were married. He by marriage Earl Leven. She the daughter of Alexander Leslie 2nd Earl Leven and Margaret Howard Countess Leven.
On 1674 Margaret Leslie Countess of Leven [aged 14] died. Her sister Catherine [aged 11] succeededCountess Leven. For unknown reasons she is not called the 4th Countess.
On 21st January 1676 Catherine Leslie Countess of Leven [aged 13] died. Her first cousin David [aged 15] succeeded 3rd Earl Leven. For unknown reasons Margaret and Catherine Leslie are not numbered despite holding the Earldom.
On 6th June 1728 David Melville aka Leslie 3rd Earl of Leven 2nd Earl Melville [aged 68] died. His grandson David [aged 10] succeeded 4th Earl Leven, 3rd Earl Melville.
In June 1729 David Melville aka Leslie 4th Earl Leven 3rd Earl Melville [aged 11] died. His uncle Alexander succeeded 5th Earl Leven, 4th Earl Melville.
On 2nd September 1754 Alexander Leslie 5th Earl Leven 4th Earl Melville died. His son David [aged 32] succeeded 6th Earl Leven, 5th Earl Melville.
On 9th June 1802 David Leslie 6th Earl of Leven 5th Earl Melville [aged 80] died. His son Alexander [aged 52] succeeded 7th Earl Leven, 6th Earl Melville.
Henrici Quinti, Angliæ Regis, Gesta, is a first-hand account of the Agincourt Campaign, and subsequent events to his death in 1422. The author of the first part was a Chaplain in King Henry's retinue who was present from King Henry's departure at Southampton in 1415, at the siege of Harfleur, the battle of Agincourt, and the celebrations on King Henry's return to London. The second part, by another writer, relates the events that took place including the negotiations at Troye, Henry's marriage and his death in 1422.

On 22nd October 1889 Alexander Leslie-Melville 10th Earl of Leven 9th Earl of Melville [aged 72] died. His half brother Ronald [aged 53] succeeded 11th Earl Leven, 10th Earl Melville. Emma Selina Portman Countess of Leveln and Melville [aged 26] by marriage Countess Leven and Countess Melville.
On 21st August 1906 Ronald Leslie-Melville 11th Earl of Leven 10th Earl of Melville [aged 70] died. His son John [aged 20] succeeded 12th Earl Leven, 11th Earl Melville.
On 11th June 1913 John Leslie-Melville 12th Earl of Leven 11th Earl of Melville [aged 27] died in a hunting accident unmarried. His brother Archibald [aged 22] succeeded 13th Earl Leven, 12th Earl Melville.
