Captain John Egerton-Warburton 1883-1915

On 20th September 1880 [his father] Piers Egerton-Warbuton [aged 41] and [his mother] Antoinette Elizabeth Saumarez [aged 29] were married.

On 13th December 1883 Captain John Egerton-Warburton was born to Piers Egerton-Warbuton [aged 44] and Antoinette Elizabeth Saumarez [aged 32].

On 11th June 1908 Captain John Egerton-Warburton [aged 24] and Lettice Legh [aged 22] were married.

On 21st September 1911 [his daughter] Elizabeth Egerton-Warburton was born to Captain John Egerton-Warburton [aged 27] and [his wife] Lettice Legh [aged 25]. She married 8th November 1934 Desmond Llowarch Edward Flower 10th Viscount Ashbrook.

On 24th March 1914 [his father] Piers Egerton-Warbuton [aged 74] died.

10th Battalion — Lieutenant John Egerton-Warburton [aged 30] to be Adjutant and temporary Captain. Dated 15th September, 1914.

On 30th August 1915 Captain John Egerton-Warburton [aged 31] died at Manchester Military Hospital from acute blood poisoning following wounds received in action in France in May 1915. He was buried at St Mary and All Saints' Church, Great Budworth.

On 5th November 1915 [his daughter] Priscilla Egerton-Warburton was born to Captain John Egerton-Warburton and [his former wife] Lettice Legh [aged 29]. She married (1) 16th July 1936 Captain William Palmer, son of Roundell Palmer 3rd Earl Selborne and Grace Ridley Countess Selborne, and had issue (2) 6th July 1948 her first cousin Peter Legh 4th Baron Newton, son of Richard Legh 3rd Baron Newton and Helen Meysey-Thompson Baroness Newton, and had issue.

The London Gazette 29687. Re John Egerton Warburton, Deceased. Pursuant to the Act of Parliament 22nd and 23rd Vic., cap. 35, intituled "An Act to further amend the Law of Property and to relieve Trustees."

Notice is hereby given, that all creditors and other persons having any claims or demands against the estate of John Egerton Warburton, late of 30, Grosvenor-place, London, S.W., and Arley Hall, Northwichj in the county of Chester, a Captain in the Scots Guards, deceased (who died on the 30th day of August, 1915, and whose will was proved in the Chester District Registry of the Probate Division of His Majesty's High Court of Justice, on the 6th day of March, 1916, by the Honourable Lettice Egerton Warburton and Geoffrey Egerton Warburton, the executors therein named), are hereby required to send the particulars, in writing, of their claims to us, the undersigned, the Solicitors for the said executors, on. or before the 26th day of August next, after which date the said executors will proceed to distribute the assets of the said deceased amongst the persons entitled thereto, having regard only to the claims of which they shall then have had notice; and they will not be liable for the assets of the said deceased, or any part thereof, so distributed, to any person of whose claims or demands they shall not then have had notice.—Dated this 25th day of July, 1916.
