Francis Newport 1555-1623

Around 1545 [his father] Richard Newport [aged 35] and [his mother] Margaret Bromley were married.

Around 1555 Francis Newport was born to Richard Newport [aged 45] and Margaret Bromley.

Around 1565 Francis Newport [aged 10] educated at Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury.

On 12th September 1570 [his father] Richard Newport [aged 60] died. He was buried at St Andrew's Church, Wroxeter [Map].

In 1574 Francis Newport [aged 19] educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University.

In 1577 Francis Newport [aged 22] educated at Inner Temple.

Around 1582 Francis Newport [aged 27] was appointed Justice of the Peace Shropshire.

Before 1587 Francis Newport [aged 31] and Beatrice Lacon were married.

On 7th May 1587 [his son] Richard Newport 1st Baron Newport was born to Francis Newport [aged 32] and [his wife] Beatrice Lacon. He married before 1615 Frances Leveson Baroness Gower and had issue.

In 1590 Francis Newport [aged 35] was appointed Deputy Lieutenant Shropshire.

In 1593 Francis Newport [aged 38] was elected MP Shropshire.

In 1603 Francis Newport [aged 48] was knighted.

Before 1615 [his son] Richard Newport 1st Baron Newport [aged 27] and [his daughter-in-law] Frances Leveson Baroness Gower were married.

On 6th March 1623 Francis Newport [aged 68] died.

[his daughter] Mary Newport was born to Francis Newport and Beatrice Lacon. She married before 6th November 1656 her third cousin Robert Harley.
