Before 31st March 1527 [his father] Edward Fitton [aged 27] and [his mother] Mary Harbottle [aged 20] were married.

On 31st March 1527 Edward Fitton was born to Edward Fitton [aged 27] and Mary Harbottle [aged 20] at Gawsworth, Cheshire [Map].

On 19th January 1539 Edward Fitton [aged 11] and Anne Warburton [aged 11] were married. They had nine sons and six daughters during their thrity-four year marriage.

Around 1548 [his son] Edward Fitton was born to Edward Fitton [aged 20] and [his wife] Anne Warburton [aged 20]. He married in or before 1572 Alice Holcroft and had issue.

Around 1548 [his daughter] Mary Fitton was born to Edward Fitton [aged 20] and [his wife] Anne Warburton [aged 20].

On 17th February 1548 [his father] Edward Fitton [aged 48] died at Gawsworth, Cheshire [Map].

In 1553 Edward Fitton [aged 25] was appointed Knight of the Shire Cheshire.

Around 1555 [his daughter] Margaret Fitton was born to Edward Fitton [aged 27] and [his wife] Anne Warburton [aged 27]. She married before 1572 her half fourth cousin twice removed Randle Mainwaring and had issue.

In 1556 Edward Fitton [aged 28] was knighted by Henry Sidney [aged 27].

On 12th December 1556 [his mother] Mary Harbottle [aged 49] died at Gawsworth, Cheshire [Map].

William of Worcester's Chronicle of England

William of Worcester, born around 1415, and died around 1482 was secretary to John Fastolf, the renowned soldier of the Hundred Years War, during which time he collected documents, letters, and wrote a record of events. Following their return to England in 1440 William was witness to major events. Twice in his chronicle he uses the first person: 1. when writing about the murder of Thomas, 7th Baron Scales, in 1460, he writes '… and I saw him lying naked in the cemetery near the porch of the church of St. Mary Overie in Southwark …' and 2. describing King Edward IV's entry into London in 1461 he writes '… proclaimed that all the people themselves were to recognize and acknowledge Edward as king. I was present and heard this, and immediately went down with them into the city'. William’s Chronicle is rich in detail. It is the source of much information about the Wars of the Roses, including the term 'Diabolical Marriage' to describe the marriage of Queen Elizabeth Woodville’s brother John’s marriage to Katherine, Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, he aged twenty, she sixty-five or more, and the story about a paper crown being placed in mockery on the severed head of Richard, 3rd Duke of York.

In 1st June 1569 Edward Fitton [aged 42] was appointed the first Lord President of Connaught and Thomond arriving in Ireland in Jul 1569.

After July 1569 Edward Fitton [aged 42] was beseiged in County Galway by Connor O'Brien 3rd Earl of Thomond [aged 35] and the sons of Richard Burke 2nd Earl Clanricarde.

Before 1572 [his son-in-law] Randle Mainwaring [aged 18] and [his daughter] Margaret Fitton [aged 16] were married. They were half fourth cousin twice removed.

In or before 1572 [his son] Edward Fitton [aged 23] and [his daughter-in-law] Alice Holcroft [aged 31] were married.

On 9th July 1573 [his wife] Anne Warburton [aged 46] died at Dublin [Map]. She was buried at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin [Map].

On 3rd July 1579 Edward Fitton [aged 52] died at Dublin [Map]. He was buried at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin [Map] on 21st September 1579.

[his son] Alexander Fitton was born to Edward Fitton and Anne Warburton.
