On 9th September 1929 Raine McCorquodale Countess Dartmouth and Spencer was born to Alexander Cowan McCorquodale [aged 71] and Barbara Cartland [aged 28]. She, Barbara, apparently, later alleged, Raine was the daughter of either John Sutherland Egerton 6th Duke Sutherland [aged 14] or Prince George Windsor 1st Duke Kent [aged 26].

In 1933 [her father] Alexander Cowan McCorquodale [aged 74] and [her mother] Barbara Cartland [aged 31] were divorced. She later married his cousin.
On 28th December 1936 [her step-father] Hugh McCorquodale [aged 38] and [her mother] Barbara Cartland [aged 35] were married.
On 10th January 1941 [her father] Alexander Cowan McCorquodale [aged 82] died.
On 1st July 1948 Gerald Legge 9th Earl of Dartmouth [aged 24] and Raine McCorquodale Countess Dartmouth and Spencer [aged 18] were married. He the son of Humphry Legge 8th Earl Dartmouth [aged 60].
On 23rd September 1949 [her son] William Legge 10th Earl of Dartmouth was born to [her husband] Gerald Legge 9th Earl of Dartmouth [aged 25] and Raine McCorquodale Countess Dartmouth and Spencer [aged 20].
On 1st June 1954 [her future husband] John Spencer 8th Earl Spencer [aged 30] and Frances Ruth Roche Countess Spencer [aged 18] were married at Westminster Abbey [Map]. In 1958 William Legge 7th Earl Dartmouth [aged 77] died. In 1958 His brother [her father-in-law] Humphry [aged 70] succeeded 8th Earl Dartmouth, 9th Baron Dartmouth. Raine McCorquodale Countess Dartmouth and Spencer [aged 28] by marriage Countess Dartmouth.
