Biography of Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet 1754-1833
Before 21 Aug 1754 [his father] John Tarleton (age 36) and [his mother] Jane Parker (age 28) were married.
On 21 Aug 1754 Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet was born to John Tarleton (age 36) and Jane Parker (age 28).
In 1773 [his father] John Tarleton (age 55) died. He had been a prominment slave trader owning several ships that transported slaves to Jamaica: the Tarleton and the Swan in the 1750s, and the John in the 1760s. At his death owned slaves at the Belfield Estate in Dominica. He owned estates in Carriacou and Dominica as well as stores and houses at Grenada and Grand Ance, Carriacou. He also had several houses in Liverpool, Fairfield Estate near Buxton and tenements at Aigburth near Liverpool, and finally secured part of Aigburth Hall Estate – the old family house – about 1770. His son Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet (age 18) inherited £19000. He squandered almost all of it in less than a year on gambling and women, mostly at the Cocoa Tree club in London. His son [his brother] John Tarleton (age 17) inherited £5000.
In 1775 Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet (age 20) purchased a commission as a Cornet in the 1st Dragoon Guards.

In or before 1783 Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet (age 28) and Mary "Perdita" Darby aka Robinson (age 25) had a relationship. She the former mistress of King George IV of Great Britain and Ireland (age 20).
In 1797 [his mother] Jane Parker (age 71) died.
In 1798 Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet (age 43) and Susan Bertie were married. She the illegitmate daughter of Robert Bertie 4th Duke Ancaster and Kesteven.

His Royal Highness the Prince Regent has been pleased, in the name and on the behalf of His Majesty, to grant the dignity of a Baronet of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to the following Gentlemen, ami the respective heirs male of their bodies lawfully begotten, viz.

Banastre Tarleton (age 61)., Esq. General in the Army, and Colonel of His Majesty's 21st Regiment of Light Dragoons.

In 1820 Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet (age 65) was appointed Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath.
On 15 Jan 1833 Banastre Tarleton 1st Baronet (age 78) died at Leintwardine, Herefordshire [Map]. Baronet Tarleton of Liverpool in Lancashire extinct.
